Pressure support system and method and a pressure control valve for use in such system and method

A pressure support system having enhanced noise reduction and a valve assembly for use in pressure support system. The pressure support system includes a pressure generator having an inlet and an outlet. A first conduit defining a tortuous path is coupled between a gas source and the inlet of the pressure generator. A second conduit coupled to the outlet of the pressure generator delivers the flow of gas from the pressure generator to a patient. A valve assembly communicates gas from the second conduit to the first conduit to control the pressure or a rate of the flow of gas in the second conduit. By communicating gas from the second conduit to the first conduit, the noise associated with exhausting gas from the second conduit is muffled by the tortuous path of the first conduit.

Secondary air supply system for internal combustion engine

The present specification discloses a system for providing a secondary air supply to an internal combustion engine so as to reduce undesirable exhaust gases. The system includes a hose running from a region of higher pressure to the exhaust port of the engine so as to supply air to such port. The area of higher pressure preferably comes from either a forward portion of the vehicle or from a high pressure region within the clutch compartment of the engine. A one-way valve is provided adjacent the exhaust port to eliminate any back flow. The method of providing secondary air supply is also disclosed.

Reciprocating saw

A reciprocating saw including a housing, a motor supported by the housing, a spindle mounted for reciprocation relative to the housing and having a front end for supporting a saw blade, the spindle being movable through a cutting stroke and a return stroke, the cutting stroke having a stroke length, and a pivot body interconnecting the spindle and the motor. The position of the pivot axis of the pivot body may be movable relative to the housing to change the stroke length of the spindle. A shock absorber may be operatively positioned between the motor and the front end of the spindle and may be at least partially mounted within the spindle.

Fan case abradable drainage trench and slot

A fan case for a gas turbine engine is provided to prevent water from pooling and freezing inside the fan case when the gas turbine is not in operation, and potentially prevent the engine from starting and / or cause engine damage. The fan case is therefore adapted to provide a drainage system allowing water to freely escape the fan case without compromising the structural integrity of the fan case. The fan case comprises: a hollow body; an abradable liner disposed inside the hollow body; a flange on the hollow body defining a surface for mating to a forward part of the engine; and, a first radial slot extending across the mating surface of the hollow body. The abradable liner has an inside surface for circumscribing the fan blades wherein the first radial slot is in a free-draining relation with the inside surface of the abradable liner.

A mounting bracket and structural bridging fastener comprises an angle mounting bracket attached to a stable base, the bracket comprising a substantially planar main body and a mounting plate oriented perpendicular to the main body, the mounting plate and main body being connected through a complex formation in the angle mounting bracket, a loaded subcomponent configured to be attached to the mounting bracket so that the attachment point of the loaded subcomponent is aligned directly with the main body, a fastener comprising a structural portion adapted to lie between and be rigidly fastened to the mounting plate and to the main body adjacent the complex formation, with the fastener further comprising a threaded portion adapted to connect the loaded subcomponent to the mounting plate. The threaded portion may be an extension of the structural portion adapted to receive a nut, or the threaded portion may be internal to the structural portion and adapted to receive a bolt. The mounting bracket and structural bridging fastener is particularly adapted to secure a vehicular steering column assembly to a vehicular cross-car instrument panel structure.

One embodiment relates to an improved camming stem system including a head member, a plurality of cam lobes, a connection system, and a retraction system. The cam lobes may be selectively rotatable between an extended state and a retracted state with respect to at least one axle of the head member. The connection system may create an elongated, substantially rigid region by intercoupling the head member with a loop. The retraction system is configured to selectively engage the retracted state with a trigger assembly which is slidably externally coupled to the connection system. The trigger assembly further includes a coupling member coupled with the plurality of cam lobes via a plurality of retractor wires, at least one trigger cable fixably coupled to the coupling member, a trigger coupled to the at least one trigger cable, a sleeve member intercoupled between the coupling member and the trigger.
