Liquid circuit

A circuit for filtering a liquid, comprising a storage vessel (10), a pump (17), a consumer device (14), a filter element (23) and a controller (24). The circuit maybe used in systems where liquid, e.g. water, oil or fuel, is filtered and at least part thereof is returned to the storage vessel. Liquid is pumped in the circuit from the storage vessel by the pump through lines (11, 13, 15, 16), filtered by filter (23) and supplied to the consumer device. Excess liquid not required by the consumer device (14) is returned via return line (15) to the controller (24) which directs the liquid either to the filter or the storage vessel—depending on liquid temperature. The controller (24) and the filter are arranged in a common housing (18) having connectors for an unfiltered liquid inlet (19), a filtered liquid outlet (20), a liquid return (21) and a liquid outlet (22). The connectors (19–22) enable rapid assembly of the circuit.

Brake disk producing method and brake disk

A brake disk producing method, comprising a periphery pressing step for forming an outer peripheral shape (5) of a rotor plate (2) into a peripheral shape having recesses and ridges (5a, 5b) repeated in a radial direction, and a chamfering step for forming a chamfered surface (6) by pressing, against a corner portion (2d) on an outer peripheral edge of the rotor plate (2), a die (7), and a brake disk made by the method. Accordingly, it is possible to improve heat radiation capability, reduce the weight and moment of inertia, improve safety in handling, and suppress increase in production costs. Furthermore, by forming the chamfered surface (6), the amount of wear of a brake pad pressed by the brake disk (1) can be reduced, and durability of braking performance can be maintained or improved.

A Rosserhead debarker having a cutter head with an improved cutter teeth mounting system. The cutter head drum defines a plurality of cutter tooth slots, each having a recess at its base. The cutter teeth are fitted into the slots with the base of each tooth closely received in the corresponding recess. A portion of each tooth protrudes from the slot to receive a blade. Each cutter tooth may be secured to the drum by a fastener extending in a generally radial direction. Each cutter tooth may include a removal stud that can be used to assist in removing the tooth from the drum. The cutter head may be mounted for axial deflection and may include a pivot yoke lock for selectively locking the cutter head against axial deflection. The pivot yoke lock facilitates certain operations where axial deflection may not be desired, including those in which only one end of the cutter head is riding on the log, such as during butt reducing. The cutter head may include a manually adjustable shoe disposed on the trailing side of the cutter head. The manually adjustable shoe may be used to limit the cutting depth of the cutter head even when only the trailing end of the cutter head is riding on the log.

Method and apparatus for the reduction of muzzle jump in firearms and weapons

InactiveUS20100175548A1Suppress muzzle jumpMaximum leverageMuzzle attachmentMomentumEngineering
Muzzle jump of projectile-firing guns and weapons systems is significantly reduced by creating a momentum, rotating in the direction opposite to the rotational direction of the momentum causing muzzle jump by redirecting not a gas flow produced by a blast of ammunition but redirecting a projectile traveling through the barrel. The barrel is bent in such a way that curvature of the bend is made convex in relation to the support of said gun or systems. The plane of said curvature coincides with the plane of the momentum created by recoil of the said gun or system. Since the projectile possesses significantly bigger mass than escaping gases, the created contra-momentum is much bigger than the one which could be achieved by redirecting a flow of escaping gases so it could be sufficient to completely negate momentum created by recoil force of said projectiles firing gun or weapon system. In preferred embodiment there is an attachable device which allows adjustment of the bend angle by rotating a skewed extension of the barrel in the skewed cylindrical opening of said attachable device's housing. Said device can provide relatively inexpensive implementation of the suggested concept. It is understood that the aiming system of the weapon needs to be realigned to accommodate probable change in the trajectory of the projectile.
