Method and apparatus for detecting analyte with filter

To detect an analyte, a fluid is flown through a filter. The fluid carries signal producing members smaller in size than the analyte and having affinity to specifically attach to the analyte. The filter is adapted for trapping the analyte while allowing passage of unattached ones of the signal producing members. A signal produced by one or more of the signal producing members can be sensed upstream of the filter to detect the analyte trapped by the filter.

Method and apparatus for controlling transmission power in wireless communication system

ActiveUS20170367053A1Probability of fail in will decreaseReduce failure ratePower managementTransmission monitoringBoundary regionBase station
In a wireless communication system in which a plurality of base stations each forming a directional beam in one direction are disposed along a predetermined path, each base station estimates a distance from installed in a mobile body moving along the path if the TE enters a cell area of the corresponding base station; and controls the transmission power using a distance from the estimated TE so that a difference between received signal strength of the corresponding base station and the received signal strength of neighboring base stations measured by the TE in a cell boundary area between the base stations does not exceed a predetermined threshold value.

Development systems for magnetic toners and toners having reduced magnetic loadings

Development systems and methods for developing using magnetic toner are disclosed. The present invention further discloses developers used in development systems as well as the toner used in developer for magnetic ink character recognition printing. With respect to the development system, a development system is disclosed which includes a supply of dry developer mixture which contains magnetic toner particles and hard magnetic carrier particles. The development system further includes a non-magnetic, cylindrical shell for transporting the developer between the supply and the development zone, wherein the shell can be rotatable or stationary. A rotating magnetic core of a pre-selected magnetic field strength and means for rotating at least the magnetic core to provide for the transport of the toner particles from the shell to an electrostatic image also provided as part of the development system. A method for developing electrostatic image with magnetic toner is further disclosed, for example, involving the above-described development system. Magnetic toner particles having a low magnetic loading such as on the order of 28% by weight or less, based on the weight of the toner are further described wherein these magnetic toners can include a spacing agent on the surface of the magnetic toner particles. A developer is further disclosed which contains the magnetic toner particles of the present invention with hard magnetic carrier particles. Other developer compositions are also described.

Reducing local oscillation leakage in a radio frequency transmitter

A method for reducing LO leakage in a radio frequency transmitter begins by producing analog outbound signals from digital outbound signals that represent transmit data. The processing continues by amplifying the analog outbound signals to produce amplified analog outbound signals. The process then continues by mixing the amplified analog outbound signals with a local oscillation to produce mixed signals having an LO leakage component. The processing then continues by attenuating the mixed signals having the LO leakage component to produce mixed signals having reduced LO leakage.

Access point processor for a wireless local area network utilizing multiple sub-channels

A channel access processor for an access point operates in a frequency spectrum which is divided into master channels, each master channel further having a plurality of sub-channels, each sub-channel capable of supporting wireless LAN communications independently from any other said sub-channel of the master channel. Each master channel is thereby associated with a plurality of sub-channels, and the sub-channels each have an associated bandpass filter and mixer frequency specific to that sub-channel, thereby allowing a plurality of independent wireless communications sessions to simultaneously take place over the multiple sub-channels of the master channel of the access point.

Magnetic recording medium and a magnetic storage apparatus

A magnetic storage device has a magnetic layer, the magnetic crystal grains of which are separated by a nonmagnetic phase. The typical crystal grain is in the approximate shape of a sphere or an ellipsoid. The thickness of the magnetic crystal grains, which is in the direction perpendicular to the surface or the film, is smaller than that of the thickness of the magnetic film. The ratio of the coercive force, which is measured in the circumferential direction, to the coercive force, which is measured in the radial direction, (the orientation ratio of the coercive force), is larger than 1.0, but preferably nor greater than 3.0. Further, the area fraction of the magnetic grains having an extended axis within 30° from the circumferential direction is equal to or more than 45%.
