A yarn having cut-resistant and antimicrobial properties. The yarn includes at least one core fiber, and preferably two core fibers. Examples of core fibers include fiberglass, polyester fibers, and high density polyethylene fibers. The core fibers are overwrapped with counter helixes of a cut resistant fiber and an antimicrobial fiber. An example of a cut resistant fiber is a high density polyethylene, and an example of a fiber having a antimicrobial substance is MICROSAFE(R) acetate fiber manufactured by Celenese. The yarn is particularly suited for use in making gloves and other protective apparel worn by individuals handling and processing food. The antimicrobial substance is embedded in the yarn so that the apparel is reusable and can be subjected to numerous washings without washing away the antimicrobial.

A cable and pulley weightlifting apparatus for preventing injury to a weightlifter that includes a pair of bases, a pair of vertical tubular posts, a pair of upper support brackets, a pair of cables, a pair of counterweights, and safety detent pins. Each vertical tubular post has an upper support bracket attached at the upper end and the lower end is attached to the respective pair of bases. Each cable with a counterweight attached to one end is inserted into the channels of the respective vertical tubular posts. The other cable ends with snap hook connectors attached are inserted into the upper support brackets and connected to a dumbbell cable harness or a barbell. The vertical tubular posts include apertures to receive safety detent pins for the weightbearing bar to be suspended at any desired elevation and providing safety to the user not available with other free weight systems.

Intelligent Network For Chemical Dispensing System

System and method for dispensing product to a washing machine. A chemical dispensing system includes a system controller, machine interface, and pump controller that communicate through serial data buses. The system controller provides a user interface, retrieves washing machine status information from the machine interface, and issues product dispensing commands to the pump controller. The pump controller monitors pump status and dispenses product in response to commands from the system controller. The pump controller: (1) determines pump activation periods based on calibration data stored in a pump controller memory; (2) tracks pump usage and adjusts the activation period to compensate for pump wear as the pump ages; (3) disables the pump if conditions exists that preclude operating the pump; (4) monitors product levels, and (5) reports pump status to the system controller. Integral channels are included in the pump housing to provide stress relief to a squeeze tube.

Fall restraint system for telescoping ladders

A fall restraint system having a retractor assembly including a housing assembly that is mounted onto an aerial apparatus. A base pulley assembly is also mounted onto the aerial apparatus. Also provided is an extruder that extrudes build material. An ejector having at least one arm that has at least two opposing ends is used to remove the printed object. The first end of the ejector is adapted to travel in a vertical direction and the second end is adapted to travel in a horizontal direction. A scraper portion extends horizontally, parallel to the print bed from a retracted position to an extended position when the first end travels in a vertical direction towards the print bed.

Horizontal concrete saw attachment

An attachment for an existing commercial concrete saw to convert the vertically cutting saw to a horizontally cutting saw. The saw's vertically oriented saw blade and associated horizontal shaft are first removed and the attachment is installed on the saw. The attachment has a gear box with pulley for receiving power from a pulley on the saw via a drive belt that extends around both pulleys. The gear box has a drive shaft extending vertically downward out of the gear box. Either a horizontal saw blade or cup brush can be removably attached to the drive shaft so that the saw can be used for making horizontal cuts in concrete or alternately the cup brush can be used to remove striping off the surface of a road. The gear box and the horizontal saw blade or cup brush are water cooled and lubricated.

The electrical receptacle includes a power socket, a direct current (DC) power supply, a detecting switch, a controller, and a relay form a circuit loop for detecting whether a power plug is inserted into the power socket. A live wire is connected to the power socket via a switch of the relay and a neutral wire is connected to the power socket directly. A device and method is provided wherein a non-extendable strap is attached to the interior of an athletic, or other type of shoe, commencing on the instep side, extending below the user's foot, and ankle, which has been previously fitted with a commercial brace or wrap or taped, which is inserted within the shoe, and the strap is attached within the shoe again on the outstep upper side. The strap element is drawn tight about the user's ankle when the shoe is laced, strapped, or otherwise secured about the user's foot. The strap element extends above the user's ankle, and is pulled taut and affixed to the brace, or wrap, or separately taped, at a position on the outside of the user's lower leg. The device and method of attachment allows the shoe and brace or wrap to act together, as an integrated system, to limit active ankle inversion.

A compact material marking system and method uses a laser to mark materials such as fabrics in environments such as stores with safety and ease of use being addressed. The system includes a housing containing the laser, gas filters, and other equipment such as fans. Material to be marked is placed into a cassette box having an opening exposing the material. The cassette is engaged with an enclosure that is coupled to the housing to allow the laser beam from the laser to enter the enclosure and to strike the material found in the engaged cassette. Fumes caused by interaction of the laser beam with the material are contained by the enclosure and drawn away to be filtered. Sensors are employed so that the laser can be activated only when the cassette is fully engaged with the enclosure.

Disclosed is a cooling garment for dispensing liquid in a mist. In one embodiment, the garment includes a vest having two juxtaposed layers that are affixed about the edges thereof, defining an interior volume for holding liquid therein. The interior volume may be accessed via a refill port for pouring liquid therethrough. The liquid can be dispensed from the interior volume of the vest via a spray head that is disposed at the shoulder portion of the vest. The spray head is connected to a tube, which is in fluid communication with the interior volume of the vest. The spray head may be actuated via a hand pump, which includes a pump handle that is accessible from the exterior of the vest at the front panel thereof.
