Robotic device for locomotor training

InactiveUS6880487B2Easy to testAssessing the efficacy of potential therapeutic interventionsChiropractic devicesWalking aidsRobotic systemsRobotic arm
A robotic system and method for locomotion assessment and training of a mammal, exemplified by a rodent. A neurologically impaired animal is suspended over a moving surface in a harness, and the animal's hindlimbs are connected to robotic arms that apply force to the hindlimbs or measure limb movement characteristics. The moving surface can be a physical or virtual surface. A single robotic mechanism comprising two robotic arms can simultaneously apply force, measure limb movement, and provide a virtual surface. Manual or automatic adjustment of load support allows the mammal to step at varying body weight loads.

Apparatus and method for cutting and treating vegetation

PCT No. PCT / US96 / 13362 Sec. 371 Date Aug. 17, 1995 Sec. 102(e) Date Aug. 17, 1995 PCT Filed Aug. 16, 1996 PCT Pub. No. WO97 / 06664 PCT Pub. Date Feb. 27, 1997An apparatus and a method for cutting vegetation and simultaneously treating the remaining stems of the cut vegetation with a treatment fluid. The apparatus includes a mower, a cutting blade drive rotatably mounted on the mower, a blade carrier secured to the rotatable drive, and at least one cutting blade assembly rotatably mounted on the blade carrier. The apparatus further includes a fluid container for containing the treatment fluid in a plurality of interconnected, stackable and removable fluid container cells, a pumping device for pumping the treatment fluid to the at least one cutting blade assembly, a flow control device for metering the amount of treatment fluid that is pumped to the at least one cutting blade assembly, and a fluid conduit device for delivering the treatment fluid from the fluid container to the cutting and treating device. The method includes the steps of cutting vegetation with at least one cutting blade, and delivering a treatment fluid to the underside of the at least one cutting blade in a continuous stream so that the treatment fluid is continuously available to the remaining stems of the cut vegetation.

Attachment for connection of harvesting combine harvester and baler

An apparatus comprising a combine harvester, the combine harvester having a front and a rear and being capable of separating grain from trash when moving in a forward direction over ground in which a crop is grown, the combine harvester being supported from a forward and rearward set of ground engaging wheels through a chassis, the combine harvester having a trash outlet proximate the rear; a towable baling apparatus for converting trash into compacted bales, the baling apparatus having a front end and a rear end and an inlet adjacent the front end for receiving trash; a conveyor having a forward end and a rearward end, a trash inlet adjacent the forward end and a trash outlet adjacent the rearward end; the forward end of the conveyor being pivotally attached to the combine harvester proximate the rear such that the trash outlet of the combine is disposed above the trash inlet of the conveyor; the rear end of the conveyor being pivotally attached to the baling apparatus such that the trash outlet of the conveyor is disposed adjacent the inlet of the baling apparatus, whereby the baler is towably connected to the combine harvester through the conveying apparatus and such that a large percentage of the trash from the combine harvester trash outlet enters the baling apparatus inlet without ever touching the ground; and the forward end of the conveyor being pivotally supported from the rear of the combine harvester by a towbar which is fixed to the chassis proximate the support for the forward and rearward set of ground wheels.

Canine exercise wheel

An exercise wheel is configured to support canines and provide an apparatus that will enable the canine to exercise within a confined space. The exercise wheel is supported on a three bearing stance that can be configured in a freestanding configuration or in a configuration that is mounted to the exterior wall of a dog kennel. In the mounted configuration, the dog will have an unrestricted access to exercise without leaving the confinement provided by the dog kennel. The exercise wheel is freely rotatable from a frame affixed to the kennel wall with a gap between the wheel periphery and the kennel wall being covered by a plastic seal. The circumferential periphery of the exercise wheel is formed of wire mesh to allow waste and debris to pass through.
