Broadcast splitter enabling selective transmission in real time

Disclosed is a broadcast splitter enabling a selective transmission in real time. The broadcast splitter divides one multi-program transport stream (MPTS), which is obtained by multiplexing motion picture expert group-2 transport streams (MPEG-2TSs), into several single program transport streams (SPTSs). In particular, the broadcast splitter for MPEG-2TSs has a function of selecting a desired SPTS by performing a switching operation with respect to an MPTS in real-time without storing the MPTS when the MPTS is split into several SPTSs. Accordingly, it is possible to transmit MPTS signals in real time because desired TSs are extracted and delivered to output ports in real time by using a broadcast switch without storing the MPTS signals in a storage unit such as a RAM.

Flame-resistant sheet with candle wick support

InactiveUS20030064340A1Capillary burnersCandle wicksEnd stagesCandle burning
A freestanding candle has a flame-resistant sheet adhered to a wick support and to a fuel body in a location proximate to the lower end of a wick. The sheet reduces the risk of fire hazards that arise during the later stages of candle burning, which are characterized by a thin candle floor and a pool of liquid fuel surrounding the wick support. The wick support is made longer and sealingly adhered to the sheet to further reduce the risk of fire hazards. The structural combination of the wick support, the sealant, and the sheet facilitates even burning during the life of the candle and self-extinguishment of the flame at the end stage of burning.

Candles with colored flames

A candle with transparent flame and flame temperature higher than paraffin candles consists of a fuel mix consisting of sorbitol, ethane diol and glycerol with a polyaramid wick. The candle can be used in catering and for the production of colored flames. For colored flames a colorant wick delivers the colorant to the portion of the flame that maximises the temperature and the residence time of the colorant in the flame. The colorant wick may be spirally wound around a former, heat set and then threaded with the combustion wick so that when alight the free end of the colorant wick relaxes to lie in the hottest portion of the flame.

Self-Extinguishing Candle

A self-extinguishing candle is described, comprising a candle body made of wax or other suitable fuel. One or more series of wick appliances having an internal hollow channel are longitudinally disposed within the candle body. A single length of wick traverses through the collinear channels of each series of wick appliances. Within each wick appliance the section of wick therein is formed into a wick contraction. The wick contraction may be formed by bending, folding, spiraling, coiling, gathering or furling the section of wick, thereby increasing the overall length of wick contained within the interior of each wick appliance.

Candle Dispenser

Devices dispenser treatment chemicals in response to heat generated by a candle. Heat transfer elements carry flame heat to an impregnated substrate that is positioned mostly or entirely below the candle. The air treatment chemical vapors are kept away from prolonged direct exposure to flame heat, thereby reducing heat degradation of the active. The candle automatically adjusts heat transfer rates to correct for decreasing amounts of active on the substrate as the substrate sears being used up.
