267 results about "Recessed light" patented technology

A recessed light or downlight (also pot light in Canadian English, sometimes can light (for canister light) in American English) is a light fixture that is installed into a hollow opening in a ceiling. When installed it appears to have light shining from a hole in the ceiling, concentrating the light in a downward direction as a broad floodlight or narrow spotlight.

Recessed fixture with hinged doors and rotatable lamp

A recessed light fixture having a rotation ring allowing rotation of a lamp mounted over the fixture frame aperture, the rotation ring easily rotatable on the frame and held in place by a ring clamp. The recessed light fixture rotation ring has a mechanical brake for locking the ring in place after positioning of the lamp. The ring also has a slip disc positioned between the surface of the frame and the ring to allow easy rotation. The housing of the fixture has junction boxes mounted on side walls which are hinged to the sidewalls of the housing and which swivel into the interior of the housing for ready access after installation through the aperture of the frame. The lamp of the fixture movable about a horizontal adjustment and vertical adjustment axis while also maintaining position with respect to the reflector.

Recessed lighting fixture with multiple adjustment axes

The recessed fixture includes a cylindrical housing assembly that encloses a lamp assembly in a watertight enclosure. The lamp assembly includes an attachment base bracket attached to the interior of the housing, and a U-shaped bracket that is rotatably attached to the base bracket. The U-shaped bracket includes attachment means that permit vertical and angular adjustment of the lamp assembly relative to the axial center of the housing. The combination of the pivot points and the ability to rotate the lamp housing about the base bracket provides at least three axes of adjustability to permit variation of the character of light emitted from the fixture. A cover placed over the end of the housing seals a lens to the housing to produce a watertight seal. The cover may include a pattern of ridges and openings to form a baffle to further protect the lens, reduce glare and provide additional directional control of the emitted light. The cylindrical housing fits within a sleeve that is positioned generally flush with the surface in which the fixture is being recessed, allowing the fixture to be accessed for installation and maintenance.

White LED illumination device

A white LED illumination device can include a white LED that has unevenness in tone and is used as a light source. The white LED illumination device can emit white light with high color rendering properties without unevenness in tone and can include the above noted white LED located adjacent an optical lens. The white LED and optical lens can be arranged so that the optical axes of both are substantially aligned with each other. The white LED can include an LED chip which emits light having a peak wavelength in the blue wavelength range and a fluorescent material which can be excited by the light emitted from the LED chip to emit yellow or yellowish green fluorescence (i.e., complementary colors to blue) by use of wavelength conversion. The optical lens can have a recessed light incident surface having an opening, a light emitting surface, and a totally reflective surface positioned between the light incident surface and the light emitting surface. The inner bottom of the recessed light incident surface can include a convex shape having a convex surface. The light emitting surface can be composed of a convex portion having a center and a periphery that can be formed in different shapes or curvatures, and can include a flat surface surrounding the convex portion.

Adjustable hanger bar assembly with bendable portion

The present invention is an adjustable hanger bar assembly for a light fixture. The assembly maintains structural integrity between first and second bars to support a recessed light fixture while being extended to distances where typical mounting assemblies fail. The hanger bar assembly comprises first and second bars which slidably engage one another. One of the first and second bars comprises a foldable foot which may be extended to increase the length of the hanger bar assembly.
