Lighting device

A lighting device comprising at least one solid state light emitter and at least one luminescent element spaced from the light emitter, a surface of the luminescent element being at least twice as large as the illumination surface of the light emitter. Also, a lighting device comprising at least one solid state light emitter and at least one luminescent element spaced from the light emitter, a surface of the luminescent element surface being at least twice as large as and substantially parallel to the illumination surface of the light emitter. Also, a lighting device comprising at least one solid state light emitter and at least one luminescent element spaced from the light emitter, a surface area of a projection of the luminescent element being at least twice as large as a surface area of a projection of the light emitter.

Semiconductor lighting device with reflective remote wavelength conversion

A semiconductor lighting device includes at least one semiconductor light emitter and at least one wavelength converting element, physically separated from the light emitter. At least one wavelength converting element has a reflective member underneath it, so that both primary light and converted light from the wavelength converting layer become a forward transferred light preventing from backscattering loss into the light emitter. The reflective member may be a thermal conductive element to effectively remove the heat from the wavelength converting element. Accordingly, the remote wavelength conversion on a reflective surface improves the thermal stability of the wavelength conversion material and prevents backscattering loss to produce a higher radiance result from the device.

Lighting device and method of lighting

A lighting device, comprising at least first and second current regulators, each switchable among two settings, and at least first and second groups of solid state light emitters. If the first regulator is in a first setting, a first current is supplied to the first group and a second current is supplied to the second group, and if the first regulator is in a second setting, a third current is supplied to the first group and a fourth current is supplied to the second group. In some embodiments, a ratio of the third current divided by the first current differ's from a ratio of the fourth current divided by the second current by at least 5 %. Also, a method comprising substantially simultaneously adjusting current supplied to a first group, and adjusting a current supplied to a second group.

LED lighting device

The present invention relates to a lighting device using an LED. One embodiment of the invention provides a lamp-shaped LED lighting device that can replace a known lighting device. The lamp-shaped LED lighting device promptly emits the heat generated by an LED element, which influences the optical output and the lifespan of the LED lighting device, through a lamp-shaped frame with a heat-ventilation structure that facilitates air circulation. In addition, the lamp-shaped LED lighting device prevents glare from an LED light source by using a lateral reflecting member, a diffusion lens and a diffusion cover and diffuses the light from the light source widely without optical attenuation. Another embodiment of the invention provides a tube and panel-shaped LED lighting devices that can be replaced with a previous tube-shaped fluorescent light and a panel-shaped lighting device. The tube and panel-shaped LED lighting devices rapidly emit the heat generated by an LED element, which influences the optical output and the life span of the LED lighting device, through a tube and panel-shaped frame with a heat-sink structure. In addition, the tube and panel-shaped LED lighting devices prevent glare from the LED light source by optically arranging a curved reflecting plate, a diffusion plate and a diffusion window which include a diffusion lens at the upper portion of the LED element. Furthermore the tube and panel-shaped LED lighting devices diffuse the light from the LED light source widely without optical attenuation.
