Mobile Client Application for Mobile Payments

A mobile client application executes on a mobile phone and interfaces with a mobile payment platform. A mobile payment platform and service provides a fast, easy way to make payments by users of mobile devices. The platform also interfaces with nonmobile channels and devices such as e-mail, instant messenger, and Web. In an implementation, funds are accessed from an account holder's mobile device such as a mobile phone or a personal digital assistant to make or receive payments. Financial transactions may be conducted on a person-to-person (P2P) or person-to-merchant (P2M) basis where each party is identified by a unique indicator such as a telephone number or bar code. Transactions may be requested through any number of means including SMS messaging, Web, e-mail, instant messenger, a mobile client application, an instant messaging plug-in application or “widget.” The mobile client application, resident on the mobile device, simplifies access and performing financial transactions in a fast, secure manner.

Method and devices for specifying the quality of service in a transmission of data packets

A method for specifying the quality of service in a transmission of data packets between a service entity (AF1) and a user equipment over a mobile network is described. The mobile network comprises a core network node (SGSN1) and an access node (NB1, RNC1) which are adapted to control the handling of data packets sent between the service entity (AF1) and the user equipment (UE1). A plurality of service classes relating to the quality of service are preconfigured and a selected service class is selected from said plurality for the transmission. A first transmission context (PDP1) is established between the core network node and the user equipment (UE1), said first transmission context being associated with a first set of attributes for defining a first quality of service for the exchange of the data packets with the user equipment in the transmission. Furthermore, a second transmission context (RAB1, RB1) is established between the access node (NB1, RNC1) and the user equipment (UE1), said second transmission context being associated with a second set of attributes for defining a second quality of service for the exchange of the data packets with the user equipment in the transmission. The selected service class determines the first set of attributes by a first unique mapping function performed in the core network node and the selected service class determines the second set of attributes by a second unique mapping function performed in the access node. A corresponding mobile network, control device and computer program are also described.

Tomosynthesis in a limited angular range

A method and system of forming an X-ray layer image of an object being examined by an X-ray device having an X-ray source and an X-ray detector is described. At least one of the X-ray source and the X-ray detector can be displaced in an angular range around the object in order that X-ray projection images are acquired from different directions. When forming only a single X-ray layer image, or a plurality of X-ray layer images of parallel layers of the object, the time required for the acquisition of the X-ray projection images is notably reduced by forming the X-ray layer image directly from the X-ray projection images, where the resulting X-ray layer image is situated in a plane which extends essentially perpendicularly to the bisector of the angular range of displacement. The angular range of displacement can be less then 180°. The system and method is notably applicable to a C-arm X-ray device, in which the angular range can be chosen at will.

Magnetic clasp device for clothing accessories

The invention relates to a device for magnetic clasping at a plurality of points for a clothing accessory such as a belt, characterised in that said device includes at least one permanently magnetised assembly (13) arranged at one end of one surface of the accessory, while a plurality of ferromagnetic elements (17) and / or permanently magnetised assemblies (13) are arranged longitudinally on the other surface of the accessory at the opposite end thereof (3), the permanently magnetised assemblies of one surface being suitable for attracting a permanently magnetised assembly of the other surface, the permanently magnetised assemblies (13) and / or ferromagnetic elements (17) of each surface being arranged such that, by placing the ends of the two surfaces of the clothing accessory vertically adjacent to one another, a plurality of adjustment positions of the two surfaces are obtained relative to the position of the permanently magnetised assemblies (13) and ferromagnetic elements (17), representing a plurality of possible tightness levels, each permanently magnetised assembly of one surface engaging with a permanently magnetised assembly or a ferromagnetic element of the other surface in each one of the adjustment positions, in order to close any magnetic field.

Networked spreadsheet template designer

A networked spreadsheet template designer allows administrators to easily create and deploy robust reporting and input applications that leverage existing spreadsheet templates and knowledge in an easy to use user interface. Templates are created to operate directly in the particular spreadsheet program environment, such as Microsoft Excel®, and can be created using existing templates and modeling workbooks of that spreadsheet program without the need for any code to be written. A library of dynamic link library (DLL) worksheet functions makes creation of templates a faster, simpler task. The template designer uses these DLL worksheet functions directly on template worksheets to perform specified actions. The DLL functions enable a user to create an interactive, custom application by automating / encapsulating complex tasks. The DLL functions are managed across a computer network through an administrator interface to create the functions and a viewer interface that combines an Explorer® window to select the functions and a spreadsheet window for the actual spreadsheet program that implements the DLL functions.
