Feedback interval control

A multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communication systems that includes a plurality of adjacent cells, each containing one or more base stations operable to transmit signals to, and receive signals transmitted from, one or more users. The users are operable to feed back to the relevant base station(s) channel state information relating to channel(s) between the relevant base station(s) and the users, and the base stations are operable to adapt signals for transmission to users, based on the fed back channel state information, to account for channel variations. The proposed method involves obtaining information related to time-variation in channel spatial structure, and adjusting the timing with which a user feeds back channel state information, based on the time variation in channel spatial structure. The invention helps to achieve a suitable balance between the feedback overhead and system performance, and may be operable in systems operating according to various CoMP transmission modes.

Methods, systems, and computer program products for compressing a computer program based on a compression criterion and executing the compressed program

Embodiments of systems, methods, and computer program products are provided for compressing a computer program based on a compression criterion and executing the compressed program. For example, a computer program may be compressed by scanning an initial computer program to identify one or more uncompressed instructions that have a high frequency of use. A storage mechanism, such as a data structure, may then be populated with the identified uncompressed instructions. A compressed computer program may be generated by respectively replacing one or more of the identified uncompressed instructions with a compressed instruction that identifies a location of the corresponding uncompressed instruction in the storage mechanism. Additional compression of the computer program may be achieved by scanning the compressed computer program to identify one or more uncompressed instructions that have a high frequency of use when at least a portion of their instruction operand is ignored. A second storage mechanism, such as a data structure, may then be populated with the identified uncompressed instructions. Finally, a further compressed computer program may be generated by respectively replacing one or more of the identified uncompressed instructions with a second type of compressed instruction that identifies a location of the corresponding uncompressed instruction in the second storage mechanism.

Gaming machine cabinet with multiple panel access structure

A gaming machine includes a cabinet defining an upper cabinet volume and a cabinet front opening to the upper cabinet volume. A video monitor is mounted on the gaming machine cabinet so that in an operating position, the video monitor registers with and covers an upper portion of a base area of a cabinet front opening. A panel is also mounted on the gaming machine cabinet so that in a panel operating position, the panel component registers with and covers a lower portion of the base area, that is, a portion of the base area immediately below the portion covered by the video monitor in its operating position. Assemblies are included which allow the video monitor to be moved to an open position vacating the base area of the cabinet front opening and allow the panel to traverse the vacated area to an open position for the panel.
