Filtered antivirus scanning

An antivirus client module (114) includes a virus definitions module (312) holding information describing characteristics of files that can potentially be infected by viruses and information enabling a determination of whether a file is actually infected by a virus. The client module (114) also includes a filtering module (314) having a file information cache (410) describing characteristics of files. A file scanning module (316) can scan files to determine whether the files are infected by viruses. The antivirus client module (114) queries the file information cache (410) using the information describing characteristics of files to identify the set of files that are susceptible to a given virus. The file scanning module (316) scans the files in the set.

Apparatus and method for beam-forming communication in mobile wireless backhaul network

An apparatus and method for beam-forming communication in a mobile wireless backhaul network. The apparatus included in a base station includes: an antenna unit radiating a beam according to predetermined beam characteristics and transmitting a signal of the base station to a mobile terminal in a high speed moving body; a position searching unit detecting a distance, a speed, and a direction of movement between the base station and the mobile terminal; a beam setting unit grouping one or more beams according to the detected distance between the base station and the mobile terminal and setting the number of beam search groups in which a beam search is to be performed and a beam search period according to the detected speed and direction of movement; and a beam searching unit searching for the beam of the mobile terminal based on beam setting values set by the beam setting unit.

Initial synchronization method in DS-CDMA inter-base station asynchronous cellular scheme

An initial synchronization method in a DS-CDMA inter-base station asynchronous cellular scheme of transmitting a spreading code sequence, includes: a first stage that detects correlation power values between the common identification code and a received signal by using a correlator and performs a threshold determination; a second stage that detects a correlation value between the received signal and each long code group identification short code, sets a group having a maximum correlation sum as a group, detects a slot in which a head of the pattern is obtained as a start slot of a frame, and compares an arbitrarily set threshold with the maximum correlation sum; and a third stage that sequentially generates replica codes of long codes and short codes, performs correlation detection for the obtained synchronization timing, and performs long code correlation detection.

System for electrophysiology that includes software module and body-worn monitor

The invention also provides an integrated system that combines an ablation system used in the electrophysiology (EP) lab with a novel, body-worn monitor and data-management software system. The body-worn monitor differs from conventional monitors in that it measures stroke volume (SV) and cardiac output (CO) in addition to heart rate (HR) and ECG waveforms. The combined system collects numerical and waveform data from patients before, during, and after an EP procedure, thereby providing a robust data set that can be used for a variety of analytics and reporting purposes. The body-worn monitor can be applied to the patient immediately after the EP procedure, e.g. while they are recovering in a hospital. Once applied, the body-worn monitor measures data in real-time, and transmits them to both an EMR and a software application running on a mobile device, such as a smartphone, tablet, or personal digital assistant.

Decoding apparatus using tool information for constructing a decoding algorithm

A coding and decoding apparatus is constructed so that the coding side transmits coded data together with identifying information for identifying the device of decoding the coded data, and the decoding side is capable of storing a number of decoding schemes so as to perform decoding based on one of the previously stored schemes. The apparatus further has devices for storing the received tools and tool-correspondent information which numerically represents the capacities of the tools so that it can make a comparison between the decoding capacity and the processing capacities of the tools to determine the possibility of the operations of the received tools. Further, a set of the tools are hierarchized so that the coded data produced by the n-ranked tool can be decoded by the (n+1)-ranked tool. Alternatively, the tools are defined in a hierarchical manner so that the decoding tools installed in the decoding apparatus will be able to assure the minimum quality and the requested decoding process can be performed by the received decoding tool. Further, the identification code ofthe decoding scheme used can be transmitted as required so that the decoding scheme can be expanded by transmitting the differential information from the basic decoding scheme.
