Method for estimating respondent rank order of a set of stimuli

ActiveUS20050060222A1Increase in capacity is limitedControl rateMarket predictionsResourcesGraphicsAlgorithm
A computer implemented method to estimate a respondent's or a set of respondents' rank order with respect to a number of attribute options (i.e. alternative prices, features, benefits, ways of expressing benefits, brand names, slogans, logos, graphic treatments such as package design elements and any other stimuli that the researcher believes may influence the individual's opinion such as a statement, graphic or brief audio). The method can be used when the number of stimuli to be presented exceeds the number that can be presented at one time to a respondent, most typically, exceeding the number that can be legibly displayed on one computer screen for rank ordering by a respondent. The estimated rank order is highly accurate, especially for the highest ranked stimuli, but requires only a small fraction of the respondent input that would be needed to capture a complete rank order from that respondent. This abstract is provided as an aid for finding relevant disclosures and not as a limitation on the scope of the claims.

Modifying a DHCP configuration for one system according to a request from another system

InactiveUS20050188063A1Optimize networkLimited configuration optionDigital computer detailsTransmissionOperating system
A method, system, and program for modifying a DHCP configuration for one system according to a request from another system are provided. A first system specifies a modify packet to request modification of a stored configuration for a dynamically configured system. The first system then sends the modify packet to a DHCP server that manages the stored configuration for the dynamically configured system. Responsive to the DHCP server authenticating the first system as privileged to make the modification request, the DHCP server modifies the stored configuration according to the modify packet, such that one system can request modification of the DHCP configuration for another system without logging into the DHCP server.

Method for producing polyoxymethylene dimethyl ethers from feedstock of concentrated formaldehyde

InactiveUS20160168307A1Low polymerizationSave primary investmentOrganic chemistryOrganic compound preparationChemical industryPolyoxymethylene dimethyl ethers
The present invention pertains to the technical field of energy resource chemical industry, and in particular relates to a process for producing polyoxymethylene dimethyl ethers by directly using concentrated formaldehyde aqueous solution as feedstock to catalytically react with methanol and / or methylal in a fixed bed reactor. The method of the present invention uses concentrated formaldehyde aqueous solution with a concentration of over 80% by weight to react with methanol and / or methylal, in the presence of an acidic catalyst, to produce the required polyoxymethylene dimethyl ethers. As compared with using paraformaldehyde powder as feedstock, the method of the present invention accelerates the depolymerization process of paraformaldehyde, thus significantly reduces the time required for product synthesis and makes the synthesis reaction able to be carried out in a fixed bed reactor; meanwhile, as compared with using formaldehyde aqueous solution with a low concentration as feedstock, the method of the present invention also significantly increases the yield rate of the target product.
