147 results about "Fragment identifier" patented technology

In computer hypertext, a fragment identifier is a string of characters that refers to a resource that is subordinate to another, primary resource. The primary resource is identified by a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI), and the fragment identifier points to the subordinate resource.

Packet classification

Methods and apparatus are provided for classifying data packets in a data processing device according to a set of processing rules, wherein, for each of a predetermined group of data items in each packet, each rule defines a rule range indicating a range of possible values of the corresponding data item for which that rule applies. The method comprises for each data packet: (a) performing a preliminary test for at least one data item in said group, the preliminary test comprising testing the value of the data item in the packet for a match with any of a predetermined set of frequently-occurring values for that data item, each frequently-occurring value being associated with a predetermined indicator, and, if a match is obtained, selecting for the data item the indicator associated with the matching frequently-occurring value; (b) performing an item search for any data item in the group for which no match is obtained in a preliminary test, the item search for a said data item comprising selecting a range identifier corresponding to the value of the data item from a predetermined set of range identifiers for that data item, the set of range identifiers indicating, for all possible values of the data item, which of the rule ranges corresponding to the data item in the rule set a value intersects, wherein the indicator associated with a said frequently occurring value for a data item is the range identifier corresponding to that value of the data item; and (c) identifying, based on the selected range identifiers for all data items in the group, at least one rule of any rules applicable to the data packet.

Hierarchical document cross-reference system and method

A hierarchical document cross-reference system comprises a document server computer remotely accessible by a user computer. The document server computer includes a database which stores the contents of a first document and a second document. The first document contains one or more segments and the second document contains one or more segments. Each segment is identified by a segment identifier. The document server computer also includes a module executable in the document server computer. The module is configured to receive a request to cross-reference the first document and the second document on a key phrase. The module searches the first document and the second document for the key phrase and identifies the segments in the documents containing the key phrase. The module then displays on the user computer a side-by-side display listing the segment identifiers for the identified segments. The segment identifiers for the identified segments in the first document containing the key phrase are displayed in a first list and the segment identifiers for the identified segments in the second document containing the key phrase are displayed in a second list. The user can subsequently select a segment identifier from each list and submit the segment identifiers for display. The module then displays the contents of each segment, with the key phrase highlighted in a distinct color or by other means.

Electronic medical records exchange system

A medical records system is disclosed having an interface module having a user interface to allow a user to request and retrieve data regarding patient records, data regulating software and a database of medical records and patient data. The interface module is configured to allow for selection of patient identifiers, selection of data requests with respect to the patient identifiers and the medical records and retrieval of information related to the patient identifiers and the medical records, where the patient identifiers, data requests and retrieval of information are communicated between the interface module and the database through regulation by the data regulating software.

Data transmission method and system

The invention relates to a data transmission method and system, comprising: the sender initiates a data transmission request to a plurality of receivers; the receiver returns response of the data transmission request to the sender, and selects data source from which obtaining each data fragment according to data fragment index information, in order to obtain data in fragment. The sender stores the data to be transmitted to a server after receiving the response of the first data transmission request; and sends the data fragment identifier information contained in the request for obtaining data fragment and the receiver address to the data transmission server; the data transmission server sends the data fragment to the receiver according to data fragment identifier information and receiver address. The invention realizes the process that single user transmits file or multimedia content to a plurality of users simultaneously, in order to effectively avoid bandwidth bottleneck in the sender to use the network bandwidth with maximal efficiency.
