Toner and image forming method

A toner is formed of toner particles each comprising a binder resin and iron oxide particles dispersed therein. The toner particles are characterized by uniform but non-surface-exposed dispersion of the iron oxide particles within the toner particles as represented by (i) a carbon content (A) and an iron content (B) giving a ratio B / A<0.001 at surfaces of the toner particles as measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, (ii) an average circularity of at least 0.970, and (iii) at least 50% by number of toner particles satisfying D / C<=0.02, wherein C denotes a projection area-equivalent circular diameter of each toner particle and D denotes a minimum distance of iron oxide particles from a surface of the toner particle, based on a sectional view of the toner particle as observed through a transmission electron microscope (TEM).

An image forming apparatus uses a two-component developer containing a toner and a carrier. The apparatus has a latent image bearer for bearing an electrostatic latent image. A toner bearer bears the toner to be conveyed to a development region to develop the electrostatic latent image. A developer bearer bears the two-component developer and supplies the toner to the toner bearer. A regulator sets the thickness of a toner layer carried on the toner bearer to 6 μm to 15 μm and sets a difference between a half width of a first toner charge number distribution as a number distribution of the charge amount of the toner carried on the toner bearer and that of a second toner charge number distribution as a number distribution of the charge amount of the toner in the two-component developer carried on the developer bearer to 0.8 (10−10 C / m) or smaller.

Magnetic toner and method of manufacturing magnetic toner

The present invention provides a magnetic toner which is hardly influenced by an environment, and with which an image with high quality and excellent resolution can be stably even under low humidity. In the magnetic toner of present invention:I) a ratio of an iron element content to a carbon element content present on the toner particle surface is less than 0.0010;II) 50 number % or more of toner particles satisfy a relationship of D / C≦0.02 (C: projected area diameter of toner particles, D: minimum value for a distance between a magnetic iron oxide fine particle and the toner particle surface); andIII) 40-95 number % of toner particles satisfy a structure where 70 number % or more of the magnetic iron oxide fine particles in the respective toner particles are present up to a depth of 0.2 time as far as C from the toner particle surface.

Electric vehicle air-conditioning device

When a battery control unit allows use of the electric compressor, an air conditioning control unit performs air-conditioning of a cabin in such a manner that the air conditioning control unit controls the electric compressor to be operated. When the battery control unit prevents use of the electric compressor, the air conditioning control unit controls the electric compressor to be stopped. In addition, the air conditioning control unit heats a windshield in such a manner that the air conditioning control unit controls a window heater to be operated. Accordingly, even when the electric compressor is stopped, fogging of the windshield is suppressed. The air conditioning control unit does not give an excessive feeling of discomfort or unease to a user, because the air conditioning control unit continuously performs a normal air-conditioning control. Fogging of the windshield can be suppressed in a state where power consumption relative to a battery is suppressed.
