UV air cleaning & disinfecting system

A UV air cleaning and disinfecting system has an enclosed chassis with an inlet / outlet surface panel on one planar side thereof, and the chassis is mounted in the space behind a drop ceiling with its surface panel coplanar with the ceiling surface and facing into the room space. The surface panel has a pair of inlet vent arrays on opposite longitudinal sides of the surface panel from each other, and a pair of outlet vent arrays on opposite latitudinal sides of the surface panel from each other. Arranged in the chassis are an air blower unit and an array of UV lamps. The positioning of the inlet and outlet vent arrays establish four mutually circulating air streams in a four-leaf-clover pattern in the room space, which obtains a high-efficiency throughput of air handled by the system. The UV lamp array is arranged longitudinally across the chassis between the inlet ventsat a lower elevational position ofthe chassis. A pair of air filters is arranged at intake chambers separated by UV-blocking baffles at opposite longitudinal sides of the main chamber housing the air blower in the center of the chassis at an upper elevational position from the array of UV lamps. The upward and downward movement of the air through the filters and over the UV lamps toward the center causes swirling movements which enhance the exposure of pathogens in the air to UV radiation exposure. The surface panel is formed with a series of cascading door sections to allow wide access across the center of the chassis for maintenance of the UV lamps, with a first door section connected to an interlock switch for cutting off electrical power to the UV lamps and fan when the first door section is opened. The UV-blocking baffles have an angled shape and slits at an upper flange thereof covered with fused silica shields. The system's chassis is dimensioned to fit on ceiling rails spaced at standard 4 foot length and 2 foot width intervals. The system can provide 99% or higher inactivation of pathogens in the air with 2 to 7 or more air changes per hour for standard sized rooms.

Method and a washing system for washing

InactiveUS20060060218A1Efficiently and effectively cleanCheap cleanHollow article cleaningMachines/enginesWater deliveryTurbine blade
A turbine washing system having a water making apparatus at a turbine site having a turbine. The water making apparatus extracts water from air. A water delivery system delivers the extracted water from the water making apparatus to the turbine to clean the blades of the turbine while the turbine is on-line. A water feeder is provided for feeding the extracted water from the water making apparatus to the water delivery system. A method for cleaning turbines on-line comprises extracting water from air directly at a turbine site having a turbine and treating the air and the extracted water to obtain extremely clean water having a conductivity of less than 3. This extremely clean water is then fed to the turbine to clean the turbine blades while the turbine is on-line. Preferably the extremely clean water is fed through a deionizer before being fed to the turbine.

Washing system for solar panels

A method and system for cleaning an array of solar panels. The system can include an applicator apparatus configured with a plurality of cleaning devices, and an automatic position system (APS) configured with the applicator apparatus. The APS can include a first and second sensor coupled to the applicator apparatus. A controller coupled to the first and second sensor devices can be configured to adjust a position of the applicator apparatus to maintain the plurality of cleaning devices in a direction facing a solar panel to facilitate a removal of an undesired material from the solar panel, while the applicator apparatus is moved from a first position to a second position. A mobile vehicle can be configured with the applicator apparatus to move along a row of the array of solar panels to perform the method for cleaning.

Cleaning device and cleaning method

A cleaning device for removing a deposit adhering to an object to be cleaned is disclosed. The cleaning device includes a cleaning chamber forming a space for housing multiple cleaning media shaped like flakes; a circulating air-flow generating unit configured to generate a circulating air flow to cause the cleaning media to fly and repeatedly collide with the object in the cleaning chamber and thereby to remove the deposit adhering to the object; and a cleaning medium recycling unit configured to suction and remove the deposit adhering to the cleaning media that have collided with the object and thereby to recycle the cleaning media. The pencil hardness of the cleaning media is greater than the pencil hardness of the deposit.

Moisture management incontinence device

A moisture management incontinence pad is adapted for placement within an undergarment worn by a user. The fabric composite includes a plurality of overlying absorbent layers having respective first and second opposing end edges and first and second opposing side edges. The adsorbent layers are substantially unattached to one another along at least one of respective first and second side edges and first and second end edges to promote circulation between the layers during laundering. A liquid impermeable jacket resides adjacent an outside major surface of the fabric composite, and covers the opposing end edges and opposing side edges of the absorbent layers. The jacket is adapted for trapping moisture within the composite, and forms a moisture barrier between the composite and the undergarment. The jacket defines an open moisture entry zone which communicates with a portion of the inside major surface of the fabric composite, whereby moisture is received through the entry zone and into the fabric composite for transport away from the body of the user.

Medical valve assembly

A medical valve assembly including a rigid external housing and a valve stem of a resilient material. The valve stem includes a passageway for conveying a fluid which has an hourglass shape to create a venturi effect when cleaning the valve stem to improve the efficiency of the cleaning process. The passageway also includes no sharp edges, thus reducing the risk of fluid getting trapped inside the passageway when the medical valve assembly is not in use. Even further, when a needleless syringe is removed from the valve stem, the valve stem expands to an uncompressed state with its top end being generally flush with an end of the housing to present a swabable surface for cleaning purposes.
