433 results about "Teeth cleaning" patented technology

Teeth cleaning is part of oral hygiene and involves the removal of dental plaque from teeth with the intention of preventing cavities (dental caries), gingivitis, and periodontal disease. People routinely clean their own teeth by brushing and interdental cleaning, and dental hygienists can remove hardened deposits (tartar) not removed by routine cleaning. Those with dentures and natural teeth may supplement their cleaning with a denture cleaner.

Electromagnetic radiation emitting toothbrush and dentifrice system

A cleaning and whitening system for teeth having an electromagnetic radiation emitting toothbrush and a dentifrice with a photosensitive agent is disclosed. The toothbrush has a cleaning surface, such as bristles. The toothbrush is also adapted to direct electromagnetic radiation toward the cleaning surface. The electromagnetic radiation may be monochromatic or polychromatic. Further, the electromagnetic radiation may be substantially free of ultraviolet radiation. Additionally, the electromagnetic radiation may consist essentially of wavelengths within a range of 300 to 750 nanometers. The photosensitive agent is dispersed throughout the dentifrice. The dentifrice transmits the electromagnetic radiation through a varying thickness disposed over a target surface during use of the system. As a result, a significant portion of the photosensitive agent reacts, resulting in whitening stains, removing and/or disclosing undesired substances, and/or foaming. The dentifrice may be clear and may have clear abrasive particles. A method for tuning the cleaning and whitening system for teeth includes formulating the dentifrice with photosensitive agents that react to a range of electromagnetic radiation and providing a toothbrush that emits that electromagnetic radiation range. Another method of tuning the cleaning and whitening system includes designing a toothbrush that emits a range of electromagnetic radiation and formulating a dentifrice with photosensitive agents that react to the electromagnetic radiation range.

Handle for tooth cleaning member

This invention provides a handle for a tooth cleaning member convenient for use in which the angle of the tooth cleaning member can be easily adjusted for cleaning teeth only by controlling the force for grasping the grip part. The handle comprises a support portion made of an elastic material, and a pressed portion shorter than the support portion. When the pressed portion is pressed against the support portion, the support portion is transformed to increase its curvature.

Full arch ultrasonic cleaner apparatus and method of use

A cleaner apparatus for use in a dental prophylaxis process includes an applicator defining a curved occlusal wall, a buccal wall, a lingual wall, and a distal wall, each of the buccal wall, the lingual wall and distal walls extending outwardly from the occlusal wall and forming a curved applicator configured to receive a patient's teeth in one of the maxillary arch and mandibular arch of the patient. The applicator being configured to receive and contain a cleaning agent in the cavity during a teeth cleaning process. An ultrasonic transducer is embedded within each of the buccal wall and the lingual wall of the applicator. A controller is electrically coupled to the transducers for powering the transducers and controlling the operation thereof, and the cleaner apparatus for cleaning a full arch of a patients teeth via cavitation of the cleaning agent resulting from ultrasonic radiation transmitted from the transducers.

Provided is a teeth cleaning device that includes a gel cartridge, a plurality of light emitting diodes, a mouth guard, and a controller. The cartridge stores a gel. The light emitting diodes emit a cold light. The mouth guard has a generally arcuate shape and includes a first recess, a second recess opposite the first recess, a cavity, a first surface, and a plurality of first openings. The first recess is located on a top side of the guard to receive a first row of teeth, and the second recess is located on the bottom side of the guard to receive a second row of teeth. The cavity is between the first recess and the second recess. The first surface is in communication with the cold light of the light emitting diodes. The assembly has a generally arcuate shape and is disposed in the cavity of the guard between the first recess and the second recess. The assembly includes a plurality of vibration motors and a plurality of second openings, wherein the motors are configured to generate vibrations and the second openings are in communication with the first openings. The controller is configured to control dispensing the gel from the gel cartridge through the second openings and the first openings into a user's oral cavity, emitting the cold light from the light emitting diodes through the mouth guard into the user's oral cavity to activate a whitening compound in the gel, and vibrating the plurality of vibration motors configured to drive the gel against surfaces of the first row of teeth and the second row of teeth.
