Receiving part for receiving a rod for coupling the rod to a bone anchoring element, bone anchoring device, method and tool for assembling the same

A receiving part for receiving a rod for coupling the rod to a bone anchoring element includes a receiving part body with a first end and a second end; a rod receiving portion with a channel for receiving a rod, and a head receiving portion for accommodating a head of a bone anchoring element, the head receiving portion having an open end at the second end of the receiving part body and being flexible so as to allow introduction and clamping of the head; and a locking ring configured to be positioned around the head receiving portion, wherein the locking ring can assume a first position with respect to the receiving part body in which the locking ring is latched to the receiving part body in a position where the head receiving portion is expandable to facilitate insertion of a head of a bone anchoring element, and wherein the locking ring can assume a second position with respect to the receiving part body in which the locking ring is latched to the receiving part body in a position where the locking ring compresses the head receiving portion, such that when a bone anchoring element has a head inserted in the head receiving portion, the bone anchoring element is held adjustably at a first angular position relative to the receiving part. A method for assembling a bone anchoring device includes inserting the head of the bone anchoring element into the receiving part body; and moving the locking ring and the receiving part body relative to each other until the locking ring assumes the second position with respect to the receiving part body.

Intraoral endotracheal tube holder and method for intubation

A tube holder assembly and method for securing an endotracheal tube to a biteline of a patient's mouth. The tube holder assembly features a tube body. A bite support assembly, coupled to the tube body, receives a tensile force and supplies a compressive force to the mouth of the patient. The bite support assembly includes a pair of substantially parallel bite walls extending outwardly from the exterior surface of the tube body. The bite walls define a bite rest therebetween for receiving a biteline of the patient's mouth and thus securing the biteline between a pair of bite walls as the bite rest applies a compressive force to the biteline.

Multiple Sprocket Assembly

A multiple sprocket assembly receives a chain and transfers torque therefrom to a rear wheel hub of a bicycle. The multiple sprocket assembly includes a plurality of different-sized multiple-toothed sprockets arranged coaxially about the rear wheel hub. A plurality of annular support elements extend between the sprockets and have a plurality of openings disposed circumferentially on the annular support element. The openings are aligned with tooth gaps of an adjoining smaller sprocket. The sprockets and the annular support elements are configured to transmit torque from the smaller sprocket to a larger sprocket.

Electrode assembly prepared in longitudinal folding manner and electrochemical cell employing the same

Disclosed herein are an electrode assembly including a plurality of unit cells folded by a continuous separation film wherein the unit cells are arranged on the separation film such that electrode taps of the unit cells face each other, the separation film has openings corresponding to the electrode taps of the unit cells, and the electrode assembly is manufactured by folding the unit cells in the longitudinal (lengthwise) direction of the separation film while the unit cells are disposed such that the electrode taps of the unit cells are inserted into the corresponding openings, and an electrochemical cell, such as a secondary battery, including the same. The electrode assembly according to the present invention is a hybrid type electrode assembly solving the problems of the jelly-roll type electrode assembly and the stacking type electrode assembly. Consequently, when external impacts are applied to the electrode assembly, for example, the electrode assembly falls, it is possible to minimize the occurrence of internal short circuits and thus to improve the safety of the electrode assembly. Furthermore, it is possible to perform the process for impregnating (wetting) the electrolyte into the electrodes in a short time during the assembly of the electrochemical cell.

Portable Computer Carrying and Locking Device

Disclosed is a portable computer carrying and securement device, comprising an elastic covering adapted to surround the outer structure of a closed laptop computer or tablet, wherein the covering includes an internal cable attaching to a rotating spool for tightening the cable and covering around the laptop for security purposes. Attached to the upper portion of the covering is a ratcheting and carrying handle, which attaches to the spool for winding the cable therearound and for applying compression onto the outer portion of the computer to prevent tampering or unauthorized access. The handle is further capable of releasing the spool and thus the tension on the cable via a directed outward release motion. This motion is prevented by a locking mechanism and combination privy to only authorized users. The device further incorporates accessories that facilitate recharging of the laptop, locking the assembly to an external structure and an outward-facing display.

Watertight decking

The waterproof decking is decking made from extruded panels for forming a watertight deck assembly. First side, second side, and intermediate panels are provided, each having complementary edges for mating with other corresponding panels. One edge of the first side and intermediate panels is provided with a drainage gutter and the tongue or groove of a tongue and groove connection, with mating edges of the second side and intermediate panels being provided with the mating tongue or groove configuration. The decking includes a depending drip rail which serves to wedge tightly against the opposite wall of the gutter of the adjoining panel to prevent relative motion between the two, and also to prevent capillary flow of liquid across the underside of the panel where it could leak into the area below. Additional sealing may be provided along the tongue and groove joints.
