Sub-miniature switch

The invention relates to a sub-miniature switch including a housing, an actuator and terminals. The actuator protrudes from the housing at a position offset from the center of the housing. The terminals are electrically conductively coupled with fixed contacts (positioned within the housing). A contact maker is moved via the actuator and held in a first or second switching position by means of a bistable spring arrangement. An additional component, a separator or auxiliary actuator, is in snap-fit engagement with or clamped or glued in the cover of the housing and is pushed through by the actuator as the switch is operated. According to the present invention, the contact point of the fixed contacts is on a side of the housing which is opposite the actuator. Power Supply Relay Controller and Electric Power Steering Apparatus

To provide a power supply relay controller and an electric power steering apparatus capable of appropriately preventing contact failure of relays. When abnormal conduction between relay contacts occurs, a power supply relay circuit is opened and closed while a predetermined potential difference is applied between the relay contacts. At this time, an operation for turning on the relay contacts is performed while the charge of an electrolytic capacitor by a precharge circuit is limited. In this way, an ice layer between the relay contacts is removed by thermal energy of an arc that is generated between the contacts by a potential difference between the relay contacts.

Switching mechanism and electric switch using the same

An AC / DC switch for electric power tools avoids bouncing when turned on, but assures quick cutting-off of heavy current. Operation does not vary with age, as might be caused by wearing of projections of the switching mechanism and / or inconsistency in spring material. A reversal spring quickly switches the mechanism on and off so that the movable contacts are brought close to the stationary contacts before the turning-on, thereby permitting the turning-on subsequent to traverse of the reversal point without bouncing of the movable contacts from the stationary contacts, and preventing movement of the movable contacts before reversal spring has stored increased energy, thus allowing quick release of stored energy to make the movable contacts leave the stationary contacts at a speed sufficient to prevent electric arcs between the movable and stationary contacts, and hence prevent the wearing of the contacts.

See-saw switch

A see-saw switch capable of closing the contacts at a high initial contact pressure. The switch includes a housing provided with a fixed contact, and a lever provided with a movable contact at one longitudinal end thereof. The lever is pivotally supported to the housing for pivotal movement about a pivot axis between a contact closing position and a contact opening position. A plunger is slidably supported to the housing for linear movement along an axial direction of the plunger, and has an actuator which is held in slidable contact with said lever for translating the linear movement of the plunger into the pivotal movement of the lever so that, when the plunger moves in a forward direction, the actuator causes the lever to pivot about the pivot axis into the closed position. A restrictor is provided to keep the lever engaged with the plunger in order to restrict the lever from pivoting from the open position to the closed position until the actuator proceeds in the forward direction past a critical point which is offset from the pivot axis by a certain distance towards the movable contact along the lever. Thus, the lever operates to close the contacts only after the actuator past the critical point where it applies a sufficient force to the lever so as to impart the substantial initial contacting pressure between the contacts.
