A marine child seat is disclosed to provide positive restraint for an infant or small child in a boat. Such restraint includes attachment of the marine child seat to the structure of the boat. The preferred embodiment is a pedestal which is bolted to the deck of the boat. The pedestal is adjustable vertically and rotationally. The marine child seat can also be removed from the pedestal to be placed on a second or third pedestal or on any fixed substantially horizontal surface where it can be held in position by a seat belt or any other conventional means. Collapsible flotation device having back support member

A collapsible flotation device is provided that uses a coilable spring coupled to a panel to collapse the device when the spring is coiled, and to expand the device when the spring is uncoiled configuration. The spring can be contained within a sleeve along the outer portion of the panel. A support member that traverses the panel is provided. An inflatable bladder disposed about a part of the outer portion of the panel and coupled to the support member buoyantly supports a body weight of a user. The combination of the inflatable bladder and the support member provide support for a user in a seated position on the panel. Many configurations are disclosed, including a multi-user collapsible flotation device, multiple connected single-user flotation devices, and so forth. A back support member and a headrest, both of which can be inflatable, provide additional support for a user to maintain a seated position on the panel. A crew boat for transporting personnel to and from an offshore platform is equipped with a passenger capsule and a basket-like cradle, which retains the passenger capsule adjacent a passenger deck during the voyage. Hull construction for small watercraft

A personal watercraft includes an improved hull design which reduces drag on the watercraft and inhibits porpoising of the watercraft at high speeds, while providing adequate buoyancy when the watercraft is at rest. The watercraft hull includes a pair of steppers positioned toward the aft end of the watercraft hull. The rear stepper has a greater height than the front stepper. This design reduces the wetted area of the hull when the watercraft is up on plane. The second stepper, however, provides additional surface contact should the watercraft to porpoise in order to stabilize the watercraft. The hull design also includes improved foot steps and adjustable sponsons. The foot steps are sloped upwardly in order to provide greater control of the watercraft when leaning the watercraft in a turn.

Seat, suspension, bolster and shell

A vehicle seat, seat shell, suspension, and bolster therefor. Where a bolster is used, the bolster has a positive lock when in an elevated configuration. The suspension includes at least one beam spring that extends across a seat pan. In one preferred embodiment, a pair of such springs is carried by the pan. The springs preferably differ in compliance from one another and from a mesh load supporting grid that is connected to each spring. One such arrangement produces a suspension of progressive construction that enables the seat to handle a wide range of shocks, bumps, jolts, and vibration of varying frequencies and magnitudes. In one preferred embodiment, the seat includes a movable bolster movably attached to either the seat or shell. In a preferred embodiment, the bolster travels along a parabolic path when moved between its down and up positions.
