The invention relates to an adjustment armature comprising a fixed component (11) which is associated with part the seat and an adjustable component (12) which is connected to the backrest. The components of the armatures (11, 12) are joined to each other by means of an actuating member (13). An adjusting and locking device, having the form of a gear, is provided in order to adjust the relative positions of the two armature components (11,12). The adjusting member (13) comprises an eccentric segment (14), whereby one of the armature components (12) is mounted thereon. The other armature component (11) acts as a bearing for the eccentric segment (14). The eccentric segment (14) is comprised of wedge segments (27), which rest against each other and partially overlap a catch (20). Said eccentric segment is also provided with a catch segment (29) between the narrow sides thereof and an energy accumulator which moves the wide ends of, the wedge segments (27) apart. The actuating member (13) optionally comprises a central receiving section for a rotationally fixed connection to the transmission rod. The catch (20) is made up of a bushing (21), and a ring (26), which is rotationally fixed to said bushing and consists of a catch segment (29), whereby no free movement can be felt when the armature (10) is initially displaced for adjustment purposes. The catch ring (26) is mounted on the armature component (11) and acts as a bearing for the wedges (27) in a peripheral region of said ring, which does not contain said catch segment (29).

Seating unit with adjustable lumbar device

ActiveUS7097247B2Improved lumbar supportStoolsAdjustable chairsEngineeringLumbar
A seating unit includes a back support with a perimeter frame defining an opening, and a plurality of resilient members spanning the opening. An upholstery cover extends over and covers the resilient members and a front of the perimeter frame. A bow-tie-shaped lumbar device is positioned between the cover and sides of the perimeter frame for vertical adjustment. The lumbar device includes a body with end sections defining a greater dimension than a middle of the body. Upper and lower edges of the end sections are thin and serve to wedgingly slip between the cover and the resilient members in a manner leading the middle over irregular surfaces between the resilient members. A thick area between the upper and lower edges causes a change in lumbar support force and shape as the lumbar device is adjusted. Handles are attached to the body by stretchable fabric.

Adjustment mechanism for armrest

An adjustment mechanism for armrests includes an armrest plane and a lower plate fastened under the armrest plane. A removable block with smaller length is disposed inside the lower plate. Elastic locating rings are disposed on right and left sides of the removable lock, corresponding to linear locating slot composed of a plurality of curved slots on right and left sides of an inner part of the lower plate. Thus the removable block and the lower plate are moving or located relative to each other. A rectangular slot with a rectangular piece whose width is smaller than that of the rectangular slot is mounted on the removable block. And curved slots for location is arranged on side of the rectangular piece so that the rectangular piece and the rectangular slot move transversely and being located, relative to each other. Moreover, a round slot with a disc therein is arranged on the rectangular piece while a plurality of locating slots is mounted on circumference of the disc so that the rectangular piece and the disc rotate and locate relative to each other. By a fastening member inserting through the disc, the rectangular piece, and the transverse slot on bottom of the removable block, the disc is secured on a fastening seat that is secured on the armrest support. Thereby the armrest has adjustable rotation angle, longitudinal displacement and transverse displacement, relative to the armrest support.

Automatically Adjustable Head Restraint

A vehicle seat assembly includes a seat cushion and seat back for supporting a seat occupant. The seat back is operatively coupled to the seat cushion for selective pivotal movement between a plurality of reclined seating positions. The seat back includes a seat back frame. A head restraint is coupled to the seat back frame and defines a backset distance between the head restraint and the seat occupant's head. A mechanism operatively interconnects the seat back frame and the seat cushion for automatically tilting the seat back in response to pivotally adjusting the seat back in order to maintain the backset distance constant. When the seat back pivots rearward the seat back tilts forward, moving the head restraint toward the seat occupant's head. When the seat back pivots forward the seat back tilts rearward, moving the head restraint away from the seat occupant's head.

Vehicle seat fitted with a pivoting mechanism, and memorization mechanism for such a seat

A seat, the back of which is connected to the seat part by a pivot including two webs able to be fixed by toothed inserts controlled by a cam. In order to allow the folding down of the seat back forwards, then the replacing of this back into its initial position, the pivoting cam is connected to an external memorisation mechanism, which comprises a control part connected to this cam by a lost motion mechanical connection adapted so that the activation of the cam does not move the activating part, and so that the activation of the memorisation mechanism drives the movement of the cam to its unlocked position.
