The embodiment of the invention discloses a target user orientation method and device. The method comprises: generating a virtual user basing on the user characteristic of a seed user; taking the seed user and the virtual user as positive sample users; determining negative sample users; respectively extracting the user characteristics of the positive sample users and the negative sample users; training basing on the user characteristics of the positive sample users and the negative sample users, determining orientation parameters; and orientating the target user satisfying the predetermined similarity condition with the seed user basing on the orientation parameters.

System and method for presenting virtual and augmented reality scenes to a user

A method of presenting a scene to a user according to a preferred embodiment includes determining a real orientation of a device relative to a projection matrix and determining a user orientation of the device relative to a nodal point. The method of the preferred embodiment can further include orienting a scene displayable on the device to the user in response to the real orientation and the user orientation; and displaying the scene on the device. Variations of the method can include a three-dimensional aspect of the scene with which the user can interact through manipulation of the real orientation and / or the user orientation of the device. The method of the preferred embodiment can be performed by an apparatus and / or embodied in computer program product including machine-readable code.

Three dimensional (3-D) object locator system for items or sites using an intuitive sound beacon: system and method of operation

An object locator system generates an audio signal as if emanating from the object as a user varies angular orientation and distance from an object or site to be located within an area. A computer linked to an access transceiver receives transmissions from a user wearing a headset including a transceiver and electronic compass. The compass provides a signal indicative of the user orientation. An access transceiver receives the signal and calculates the location of the user based on the time difference of arrival of the RF signal and triangulation of the user movement. An accelerometer in the headset continuously tracks user movement. The location of the object in a vertical direction is provided by a directory or other reference source stored in the computer. Based on the angular orientation, horizontal and vertical distance of the object or site relative to the user, the computer maps the location information into sounds in the form of pulse amplitude or frequency modulated sound. The audio signal is perceived by the user as emanating from the object or site.

System and method for evaluating sentiment

An example system and method elicits reviews and opinions from users via an online system or a web crawl. Opinions on topics are processed in real time to determine orientation. Each topic is analyzed sentence by sentence to find a central tendency of user orientation toward a given topic. Automatic topic orientation is used to provide a common comparable rating value between reviewers and potentially other systems on similar topics. Facets of the topics are extracted via a submission / acquisition process to determine the key variables of interest for users.

User Interface for Orienting New Users to a Three Dimensional Computer-Generated Virtual Environment

When new users are first introduced to virtual environments, the new users may be confused and uncertain as to how to interact with the virtual environment. Several new user orientation features have been added to the virtual environment user interface to help orient new users to the three dimensional computer-generated virtual environment and to prevent the new users from making common mistakes. Example beginning user orientation features include clearly distinguishing when the user is interacting with the virtual environment and when the user is interacting with virtual environment application controls, limiting the vertical field of view of the new user's Avatar to prevent the user from becoming stuck looking straight up or straight down, providing the user with visual feedback when switching between first and third person points of view, and providing the user with clear instructions as to how to control their Avatar and how to reenter the virtual environment.
