36 results about "SCART" patented technology

SCART (also known as Péritel or Péritélévision, especially in France, 21-pin EuroSCART in marketing by Sharp in Asia, Euroconector in Spain, EuroAV or EXT, or EIA Multiport in the United States, as an EIA interface) is a French-originated standard and associated 21-pin connector for connecting audio-visual (AV) equipment. The name SCART comes from Syndicat des Constructeurs d'Appareils Radiorécepteurs et Téléviseurs, "Radio and Television Receiver Manufacturers' Association", the French organisation that created the connector in 1970. The related European standard EN 50049 has been then refined and published in 1978 by CENELEC, calling it peritelevision, but it is commonly called by the abbreviation péritel in French.

A data transfer adaptor and a method for transferring data

Abstract of the DisclosureA coupling device to connect an external device, e.g. a mobile station, to a television receiver through a SCART or antenna connection using an LPRF link (e.g. Bluetooth). The coupling device contains the necessary electronics to receive the signal sent from the mobile station as an LPRF radio signal and convert it to a format suitable for television. The coupling device can be built as a small adapter that attaches directly to the SCART connector of the TV. The coupling device can be arranged to be capable of e.g. relaying a signal from a video recorder to the TV and to replace the signal with a signal presenting the information sent by the mobile station.

Adaptor to allow apparatus with non-scart connectors to connectors to connect to apparatus with scart connectors

The invention relates to the provision of electrical apparatus which has at least one printed circuit board on which electrical components are set out and a first format of connection type exposed to allow connection of further apparatus. The connections can be attached directly to further apparatus with the same connector format and allow transfer of data between further electrical apparatus or alternatively, at the time of manufacturing an adaptor can be provided which has connectors of the same format as those on the printed circuit board for connection with the said printed circuit board and a series of output connectors of a different format which can be exposed for the selective connection thereto of phono or other format connectors. This therefore allows a common printed circuit board design to be used for electrical apparatus for sale in any market, regardless of the particular type of connectors which are used to connect the printed circuit board to other pieces of apparatus in that market and a decision to be made by the manufacturer at the time of manufacture as to whether or not to connect the adaptor dependent on the ultimate destination of the apparatus.

SCART interface control circuit and electronic equipment using same

The invention relates to electronic equipment using an SCART interface control circuit, which can control the video output format of an SCART interface. The electronic equipment comprises a processing chip, the SCART interface and a control circuit; the processing chip is used for sending at least two groups of voltage signals to the control circuit; the control circuit comprises a first switching circuit, a second switching circuit and a voltage dividing circuit, wherein, the first switching circuit and the second switching circuit are respectively connected with the processing chip so as to respectively receive the two groups of voltage signals sent by the processing chip and control the voltage dividing circuit to output different voltage controlling signals according to the two groups of voltage signals; the voltage dividing circuit includes a third resistor, a fourth resistor and a fifth resistor in serial connection; and the SCART interface is connected with the control circuit and is used for adjusting the video output format according to different control signals output by the control circuit. The electronic equipment controls the video output format of the SCART interface according to the voltage signals sent by the processing chip, is easy to operate and can omit the use of other control chips or devices.

Improved interconnection between components of a home entertainment system

A system ( 200 ) and method are described for exchanging data such as software updates, menus and digital AV content (e.g. MPEG2 streams) between components ( 202, 206 ) of a home entertainment system ( 200 ) interconnected using analogue AV connections such as phono / RCA or (preferably) Scart ( 208, 214 ). A first component ( 202 ) indicates ( 222 ) to a second component ( 206 ) that a data exchange is planned utilising one or more available analogue AV connections ( 220 ). In response, the second component ( 206 ) adapts its processing to accommodate the data exchange, for example routing and processing exchanged data instead of handling it as analogue AV content. In this way, existing analogue AV connections ( 208, 214 ) may be used to transfer data from one component to another in a home entertainment system without perturbing normal analogue AV operation whilst saving standardisation and deployment costs associated with defining new connectors and cordsets for such data transfer.

The invention discloses a multipath SCART channel intelligent switching method, and the method comprises the following steps: detecting whether there is an SCART signal source inserted in one channel of a multipath SCART channel on a television or not; enabling the television to be automatically switched from a current signal source play state to an SCART signal source play state when there is the SCART signal source inserted in one channel of the multipath SCART channel; carrying out the priority comparison when the SCART signal source is detected to be inserted into a plurality of SCART channels at the same time, wherein the sequence of priorities is from the high to the low; enabling the television to be automatically switched to the SCART signal source play state, corresponding to the high-priority SCART channel, from a current signal source play state according to the comparison result, wherein the priorities of the plurality of SCART channels can be set freely. The invention also provides the television employing the method, and the method achieves the intelligent and automatic switching of the television to a corresponding SCART signal source play state, and brings convenience to a user for operation.

Multisource output television

The invention discloses a multi-source output television, comprising a main processing chip and an intermediate frequency amplifying chip, and provided with a first SCART interface and a second SCART interface, the first SCART interface is used for receiving a video signal output by the intermediate frequency amplifying chip and / or an audio signal output by the main processing chip, and is able to invariably output certain program source signal, e.g. cable television signal; the second SCART interface is used for receiving the video and / or audio signals output by the main processing chip, and is able to output diverse program source signals in accordance with diversity of the output sources, e.g. the cable television signal or AV signal. Therefore, the inventive television can realize simultaneous output for the diverse program sources and, in addition, diverse selectability of the programs.
