390 results about "Broadcast domain" patented technology

A broadcast domain is a logical division of a computer network, in which all nodes can reach each other by broadcast at the data link layer. A broadcast domain can be within the same LAN segment or it can be bridged to other LAN segments.

Vehicle interaction communication system

The information available to a driver of a vehicle is greatly expanded using wireless communications (e.g., using Bluetooth wireless communication devices). In one embodiment, information regarding an adjacent vehicle such as a brake light, a turn light, speed, distance, direction, etc., is transmitted from one vehicle to a nearby or adjacent other vehicle. The received information is used in any appropriate manner, such as causing the receiving vehicle to change vehicle speed or brake, to turn to avoid a collision, etc. In a second embodiment, roadside wireless transceivers collect information regarding passing vehicles, and central database is compiled relating to a traffic conditions. The traffic condition information can be passed back to the passing vehicles for appropriate use, e.g., causing the driver to slow down, or even causing a navigation device in the receiving vehicle to manually prompt for or automatically recalculate a best route to an intended destination. In yet another embodiment, broadcast transmitters can be established at signs and other significant locations transmitting information to passing vehicles. The broadcast information may be as simple as indicating the existence of the sign, or depending upon the range of the particular wireless transmitter, the existence of a particular sign, bump in road, curve, etc., can be forewarned far in advance of when the driver will actually see the relevant object. Alternatively, the broadcast information may be quite detailed, e.g., containing a detailed itemization and directions to a large number of gas stations, restaurants, etc., reachable from a particular exit from a highway.

Method and system for protecting a sub-domain within a broadcast domain

A method and system for protecting a service available on a broadcast domain. A sub-domain is established within the broadcast domain. The sub-domain includes a group of nodes used to provide a communication path to the service. A primary sub-domain maintenance association and a back-up sub-domain maintenance association are monitored. The primary and sub-domain maintenance associations are a set of primary and back-up paths, respectively, representing connectivity between nodes acting as edge nodes in the sub-domain. A fault is detected within the primary sub-domain maintenance association and a switch to the back-up sub-domain maintenance association occurs.

Base station, communication terminal, transmission method, and reception method

A base station includes a scheduler configured to perform frequency scheduling for each subframe; a control channel generating unit configured to generate a control channel including common control information to be mapped to radio resources distributed across a system frequency band and specific control information to be mapped to one or more resource blocks allocated to each selected user device; and a transmission signal generating unit configured to generate a transmission signal by time-division-multiplexing the common control information and the specific control information according to scheduling information from the scheduler. The common control information includes a format indicator representing one of preset options that indicates the number of symbols occupied by the common control information in one subframe. The common control information includes information units with a predetermined data size. The number of the information units is less than or equal to a specified multiplicity included in broadcast information.

Broadband communication systems and methods using low and high bandwidth request and broadcast links

Broadband data transmission systems and methods that provide point-to-multipoint broadcasting capability to implement Internet access and multimedia distribution services for a very large number of users. An exemplary system comprises a two-way communication link having at least one satellite, at least one user terminal that has two-way communication with the two-way communication link, and at least one gateway that has access to data and has two-way communication with the two-way communication link. The two-way communication link may comprise a low bandwidth two-way communication link, or a low bandwidth request link and high bandwidth data broadcast link. The high bandwidth link preferably broadcasts a wide area coverage beam to allows the requested information to be received by many terminals. The terminal and gateway may each include a cache. Software at the gateway operates to deliver requested data and related data to users using the user's request history and/or user profile. The requested (and related) data (such as a predetermined number of most-requested web pages) may be broadcast at predetermined intervals to simulate real-time broadcasts. Another exemplary system comprises a terrestrial communication link for communicating data requests, a satellite broadcast link for transmitting the requested data, at least one gateway having access to data that communicates with the terrestrial communication link and the satellite broadcast link, and at least one user terminal that communicates with the terrestrial communication link and the satellite broadcast link that caches the requested (and related) data transmitted by the satellite broadcast link. Broadband data transmission methods are also disclosed.

Data transport to mobile devices using a radio broadcast data channel

The present invention relates to method and system for providing data services to mobile device (25) via a digital radio broadcast channel, wherein data is encrypted and forwarded to a digital radio broadcast domain based on a conditional access scheme. The additional access scheme is based on existing concepts of SIM / IMSI definition and algorithms. The invention enables initial message coverage for developing countries and extends rural message coverage for huge area countries, where little mobile coverage is provided.

Multimedia live broadcast whistle-blowing method, terminal, server and system

The invention discloses a multimedia live broadcast whistle-blowing method, terminal, server and system, and belongs to the technical field of information. The method comprises the steps that a whistle-blowing instruction is obtained, and media data are obtained from multimedia data broadcast in a media broadcast interface within the preset time period according to the whistle-blowing instruction; whistle-blowing information is determined according to the media data, wherein the whistle-blowing information at least comprises the media data and the broadcast information of the media data, and the broadcast information of the media data comprises the information identifying the source of the media data; the whistle-blowing information is uploaded to a whistle-blowing server. According to the multimedia live broadcast whistle-blowing method, due to the facts that the media data are obtained from the multimedia data broadcast in the media broadcast interface within the preset time period according to the whistle-blowing instruction, the whistle-blowing information determined according to the media data is uploaded to the whistle-blowing server, and the whistle-blowing server processes the whistle-blowing information, whistle-blowing information is rapidly uploaded, occupied network resources are reduced, and the supervision range of multimedia live broadcast is enlarged.
