Linear faraday induction generator for the generation of electrical power from ocean wave kinetic energy and arrangements thereof

Various embodiments of linear electric generators and arrangements thereof are disclosed. One such generator includes a permanent magnetic array with magnets that are oriented such that like poles of the magnets are disposed adjacently to concentrate a magnetic field through a coil array. To enhance the magnetic field distribution, the magnets are affixed under a compressive strain due to repulsive forces resulting from proximity of the like poles. According to another aspect, a plurality of vibrational linear electric generators (VLEGs) can be arranged so that magnets of different VLEGs are oriented so that poles of opposite polarity are disposed adjacently to further enhance magnetic field concentration through coil arrays. In addition, a plurality of wave energy converters can be arranged in very close proximity, at most 8 times a height of a buoyant portion of the converters, to act as a seawall and thereby protect various structures from ocean waves.

Gyrostabilized self propelled aircraft

An unmanned air vehicle comprises a fuselage that defines aerodynamic flight surfaces, an engine mounted to the fuselage having an engine shaft arranged to rotate about a longitudinal axis with respect to the fuselage, and a propeller mounted to the engine shaft so as to rotate to thereby provide thrust. The aircraft also comprises a gyroscopic stabilization member coupled to the shaft such that rotation of the engine shaft results in rotation of the gyroscopic member. Thus, there is more stability during the entire flight envelope. In one embodiment, the gyroscopic stabilization member is comprised of a ring that is attached to the outer ends of the blades of the propeller and the ring is also selected so as to have a mass that will result in the gyroscopic stabilization member having a sufficient angular momentum so as to gyroscopically stabilize the aircraft.

Peltier system with water purification means

An improved water generating device is provided for extracting water vapor from ambient air circulated therethrough. The device comprises an air pathway, a fan, a peltier module, a collection reservoir, and a heat sink. The air pathway defines first and second sections. A cold side of the peltier module is disposed in the first section and a hot side of the peltier module, whereto the heat sink is attached, is disposed in the second section of the peltier module. The fan draws the ambient air into the air pathway, and the cold side of the peltier module extracts water vapor out of the ambient air, which collects as water in the collection reservoir. The heat sink is partially disposable in the water and also includes a capillary tube which draws the water thereinto. Additional water vapor is extracted from the air, creating substantially dry air.

Device for guiding objects into containers

InactiveUS20050229548A1Premium on flexibility of operationAbility to handle variable packagesSolid materialStacking articlesEngineeringMechanical engineering
Disclosed is a device for temporarily creating and maintaining a depositing cavity in a container to be filled with objects, in particular flexible packages, standing substantially upright on the floor of said container, said device including: a moveable planar first restraining member with an anterior surface facing into said cavity and a posterior surface; and a moveable planar second restraining member with an anterior surface facing into said cavity and a posterior surface; the restraining members being operationally arranged to be removably insertable into and between facing side walls of a container to be filled with upright stacked objects and thereby to define a temporary cavity which facilitates the insertion of the objects into the container. The cavity is defined, in an object receiving configuration, by facing anterior surfaces of said first and second restraining members, by facing side walls of said container and by a portion of the floor of said container delimited thereby, such that upon deposition a given object sits upon said portion of said floor and between said facing anterior surfaces. The posterior surface of said first restraining member acts to restrain previously deposited objects against movement. According to the invention so configured, following deposition of an object into said cavity, said first restraining member may be withdrawn from its position on one side of said object, and reinserted so as to take up a new restraining position on the opposite side of said object, and said second restraining member may then be moved away from said first restraining member thereby to create a new cavity for the deposition of a further object.

Instrument securing device

The instant invention provides a device for mounting, display, and storage of stringed instruments such as guitars. The device is comprised of a body having a generally U-shaped opening for accepting the neck portion of an instrument. The device provides a secure storage mount for a guitar or other similar instrument whereby the instrument can be secured in the device by merely placing the neck portion of the guitar into the U-shaped opening. The neck of the instrument provides a force that is substantially perpendicular with respect to the instrument neck to cause translation of a slider member. Movement of the slider member provides rotation to a pair of fingers to enclose the neck of the instrument with the U-shaped opening. In a more secure embodiment, an instrument can be locked into place using a locking mechanism that provides selective translation of the slider member. The device provides the capability of being mounted to surfaces as well as new or pre-existing free-standing instrument stands.
