Computer-implemented method for conducting a jury selection training exercise based on mock trail date

A computer-implemented method of conducting a jury selection training exercise for a user based on mock trial data. The method includes presenting juror data for an initial pool of potential jurors on a computer display and providing juror questionnaire response data. The user is allowed to strike members of the initial pool for cause using a computer input device and to make up to a predetermined permitted number of peremptory strikes of members of the initial pool. A probable jury is assembled through computer processing that includes members of the initial pool not struck for cause and not struck using a peremptory strike. A stricken jury is assembled through computer processing that includes members of the initial pool struck for cause or struck using a peremptory strike. Jury deliberation results are presented to the user, including a decision made by each juror of the probable and stricken juries.

Incoming call reminding method and device

The invention provides an incoming call reminding method and an incoming call reminding device, which are applied to the field of communication; the incoming call reminding method disclosed by the invention is as follows concretely: when detecting an incoming call, judging whether a current incoming call reminding manner is a ringing mode; if so, firstly entering a pre-reminding mode, wherein the reminding manner in the pre-reminding mode includes at least one non-voice reminding manner; in the pre-reminding mode, detecting whether an operation instruction for the incoming call is received; if the operation instruction is received, exiting from the incoming call reminding; and otherwise, after finishing the pre-reminding mode, entering the ringing mode for the incoming call reminding. Compared with the prior art, under the condition of the ringing mode, the incoming call is reminded with a voice, the pre-reminding mode is entered firstly, and the incoming call is reminded in the non-voice manner at the pre-reminding mode, so a user has enough time to process the incoming call; the method and the device can prevent the ring tone from disturbing others when a scene mode is forgotten to set and prevent a harassment call which is hanged up when ringing for one voice; and the user experience is improved.

Method and system for routine disruption handling and routine management in a smart environment

The disclosure relates to sensor network, machine type communication (MTC), machine-to-machine (M2M) communication, and technology for internet of things (IoT). The disclosure may be applied to intelligent services based on the above technologies, such as smart home, smart building, smart city, smart car, connected car, health care, digital education, smart retail, security and safety services. The disclosure describes a method and system for routine disruption handling and routine management in a smart environment. A method for operating an apparatus is provided. The method includes detecting, an operating condition of at least one of device applications and internet of things (IoT) devices associated with a routine of user activities; detecting disruptions in the operating condition of the at least one of the device applications and the IoT devices; identifying an impact on the user activities that are caused by the disruptions; and performing a disruption handling to provide a disruption solution for executing the routine of user activities.

Controller

A controller is provided for maneuvering an interrogation plane relative to a reference surface. The interrogation plane intersects the reference surface and is associated with a pole about which the interrogation plane is rotatable. The pole has an adjustable angle of inclination relative to the reference surface. The controller has a base, a handle, and an arm extending from a connection with the base to a connection with the handle. The arm has hingable joints which hinge to allow the handle to be translated relative to the base in arbitrary directions across a user surface. The controller further has position sensors which measure the translation of the handle relative to the base on the user surface. The translation provides a corresponding translation of the interrogation plane relative to the reference surface. The handle is rotatable about a rotation axis and is tillable about a tilt axis to allow the handle to be angularly moved relative to the user surface. The controller further has angle sensors which respectively detect the rotation about the rotation axis and the tilt about the tilt axis. The rotation about the rotation axis and the tilting about the tilt axis provide angular movement of the interrogation plane relative to the reference surface corresponding to the angular movement of the handle relative to the user surface.
