The present invention is directed to a system, method or computer program, for enabling a radio auditor or a television viewer (100) to access complementary information (101) related to a broadcast program (102) received in real-time (or to a recorded program previously broadcast and played back on an audio or video player/recorder). The preferred embodiment of the invention relates to a system and method for enabling a person (100) receiving a broadcast program (102), (or listening or watching a recorded program), to select a plurality of topics or sequences drawing his or her attention (101, 103) and for immediately, or later on, accessing additional information related to these topics or sequences from the Word Wide Web. The system is based on a synchronization of the local times of receivers (or recorders) and transmitters according to a same universal-time (201, 202), so that the flow of information transmitted and received (or recorded) is always synchronized, independently of the relative positions of receivers (or recorders) and transmitters. The synchronization is done referring to an universal time such as the Global Positioning System Time (GPS-time), the Global Orbiting Navigational Satellite System (GLONASS) time or another suitable universal time based on a satellite system. The GPS or GLONASS receivers are connected or integrated to the broadcasting stations. At the receiver side, GPS or GLONASS receivers may be integrated or connected to user devices e.g., Personal Computers, wearable computers, Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), smart phones or onboard mobile computers (or to the audio or video recorders) that may be independent or separate from the radio or television receivers. The system is also based on a plurality of hyperlinks defined for given time intervals during the production of the broadcast program. These time intervals are synchronized with the universal Time. The hyperlinks are associated with the transmitted (and recorded) information. The hyperlinks can be retrieved, selected and activated by radio auditors or television viewers during the time intervals for which they have been defined, during the broadcast of the program (or during its playback).

A method and system for retrieving in real-time a hyperlink related to a topic selected during a broadcast of a program on a channel. A first request to a wireless internet gateway is sent for retrieving a universal-time and an address of a server. The universal-time pertains to when the command was performed. The universal-time and the address of the server is received from the wireless internet gateway in response to the first request. A second request to the server is sent via the wireless internet gateway using the received address of the server, for retrieving the one or a plurality of hyperlinks related to the selected topic, said second request transmitting to the server the received universal-time from which the hyperlink may be determined by the server. The hyperlink is received from the server via the wireless internet gateway and then recorded.

The invention relates to a device for observing micro-droplets. The device comprises a micro-fluidic chip, a flickering light source and an image acquisition module, wherein the micro-fluidic chip is provided with microchannels containing cyclically moving micro-droplets; the flickering light source generates flickering light with preset flickering parameters according to a control signal provided by a flickering light source control module; the image acquisition module acquires images of the micro-droplets irradiated by the flickering light and located in the microchannles of the micro-fluidic chip. The flickering light source is controlled by the flickering light source control module to generate flickering light with specific frequency and irradiates the micro-fluidic chip; then, the image acquisition module acquires the images on the micro-fluidic chip; information about sizes, shapes, flux and the like of the micro-droplets can be obtained according to the images and the frequency of the flickering light. Compared with methods using conventional high-speed cameras, phototubes and the like, the device has the advantages that comprehensive information is acquired conveniently and the device is low in cost and easy to establish and can be widely applied to a small micro-fluidic system.

An apparatus and method for obtaining information, such as heart rate or the presence of atrial fibrillation, from electrodes applied to the feet of a subject. A scale having electrodes may be used for this purpose. The signal obtained from the electrodes is digitized and filtered to obtain an electrocardiographic signal exhibiting periodic, sequential, discrete, magnitudinal variations associated with the heartbeats of the subject. The electrocardiographic signal is then analyzed to identify discrete magnitudinal variations useful for obtaining the desired information. In determining the heart rate of the subject, an interval between variations having a desired magnitudinal characteristic may be employed. The absence of such variations is indicative of atrial fibrillation.
