Leg alignment for surgical parameter measurement in hip replacement surgery

A CAS system and method for measuring surgical parameters during hip replacement surgery to guide an operator in inserting a hip joint implant in a femur, comprising a first trackable reference in fixed relation with the pelvis and a registration tool. A sensor apparatus tracks the first trackable reference and the registration tool. A controller unit is connected to the sensor apparatus so as to receive tracking data for the first trackable reference and the registration tool. The controller unit has a position and orientation calculator to calculate from the tracking data a position and orientation of the pelvic trackable reference to track the pelvic frame of reference, and of the registration tool to produce a femoral frame of reference at two sequential operative steps. A reference orientation adjustor receives tracking data for the pelvic frame of reference, and the femoral frame of reference associated with the first trackable reference, to orient the femoral frame of reference in a reference orientation with respect to the pelvic frame of reference, and to produce a reference adjustment value as a function of the reference orientation. A surgical parameter calculator receives tracking data from the registration tool to calculate surgical parameters as a function of the reference adjustment value, the surgical parameters at the two sequential operative steps being related by the reference orientation.

The invention provides an apparatus for determining a reference orientation (pattern orientation) to a fingerprint-like pattern, formed with a number of curves, accurately in a short time. The apparatus includes a pattern-center determination section for determining a reference center to the pattern, a reference-circle generation section for generating a reference circle centered at the pattern center, a reference-circle-intersecting-point calculation section for calculating intersecting points of the reference circle and the curves of the pattern, a reference-point determination section for determining a reference point for the pattern orientation based on a relationship between directions of the reference circle and directions of the pattern curves at the intersecting points, and a pattern-orientation determination section for determining the pattern orientation based on the pattern center and the reference point. The apparatus can be applied to a system which performs personal authentication using biometric information, such as a fingerprint, or a like system.

Head tracking

A head tracking system (400) is proposed in the present invention that determines a rotation angle (300) of a head (100b) of a user (100) with respect to a reference direction (310), which is dependent on a movement of a user (100). Here the movement of a user should be understood as an act or process of moving including e.g. changes of place, position, or posture, such as e.g. lying down or sitting in a relaxation chair. The head tracking system according to the invention comprises a sensing device (410) for measuring a head movement to provide a measure (401) representing the head movement, and a processing circuit (420) for deriving the rotation angle of the head of the user with respect to the reference direction from the measure. The reference direction (310) used in the processing circuit (420) is dependent on the movement of the user.; The advantage of making the reference direction (310) dependent on a movement of a user is that determining the rotation angle (300) of the head (100b) is independent of the environment, i.e. not fixed to environment. Hence whenever the user (100) is e.g. on the move and his body parts undergo movement the reference direction is adapted to this movement.

Method and device for determining coordinate system conversion parameter, electronic device and storage medium

The embodiment of the invention provides a method and a device for determining a coordinate system conversion parameter of an imaging device, an electronic device and a computer readable storage medium. The method is characterized by acquiring a reference value of the coordinate system conversion parameter and a reference image captured by the imaging device, wherein the reference value is determined when the imaging device is at a reference position and a reference orientation in a world coordinate system, and the reference image is captured when the imaging device is at the reference position and the reference orientation; responding to a change of at least one of the position and orientation of the imaging device in the world coordinate system, and determining an offset of a target image captured by the imaging device after the change occurs relative to the reference image; correcting the offset based on a corresponding coordinate of a reference pixel point in the reference image inthe world coordinate system; and acquiring a target value of the coordinate system conversion parameter based on the reference value and the corrected offset. In the invention, operation is simple, calibration efficiency is high, and precision guarantee is provided for road side perception of automatic driving and autonomous parking.

Navigational positioning method based on sky polarization distribution model matching

The invention relates to a navigational positioning method based on sky polarization distribution model matching. The method comprises the following steps: taking a positive direction of a mobile robot as a 0-degree reference direction, photographing the sky above the mobile robot in real time by employing a polarization camera, acquiring a real-time sky polarization distribution false color image through calculation and synthesis; performing local feature modeling on the sky polarization distribution false color image; performing stable feature point extraction and feature matching on the local features of the sky polarization distribution false color image, and obtaining an affine transformation relationship between the sky polarization distribution model diagrams; and calculating the position and navigational direction of the mobile robot. According to the method, the polarization distribution of the whole sky is not required to be obtained; the local feature information of the sky polarization distribution is utilized, so that the navigational direction of the mobile robot can be acquired from the sky polarization distribution, and the position of the mobile robot can be acquired; and the method is not required to depend on prior knowledge and is high in environmental adaptivity and high in accuracy.
