Bipod mount and grip assembly

A grip and bipod mounting device for mounting a bipod supporting grip assembly to a “picatinny” mounting rail structure as are often affixed below the forearm stock of a firearm such as a military rifle (e.g., as per standard MIL-STD-1913). In particular, the present invention is directed to mounting a Parker-Hale style of firearm bipod on a bipod supporting grip assembly including a contoured mounting block segment inletted to cover and attach to a picatinny rail affixed beneath the forearm stock of the firearm. A grip or handle depends transversely from the mounting block segment and has a plurality of evenly spaced circumferential band-shaped outwardly projecting surface features. The bipod supporting grip assembly is releasably attachable to a bipod frame by means of a quick release connector such as a bayonet lock or similar locking means. The bipod frame includes a pair of extensible / retractable legs, each having a pair of telescoping sections to enable the height of the bipod to be adjustable as desired.

Firearm safety device

InactiveUS6526684B1Simple and rugged constructionImprove reliabilitySafety arrangementGun barrelEngineering
A firearm safety device invention for handguns is disclosed. The safety device (10) prevents accidental firing of a gun by children, but is easily removable by an adult in 5 to 10 seconds even in pitch darkness. The safety device includes a lock sleeve (26) with an expandable end plug (30) which is inserted through the muzzle (16) of a gun barrel (14). With the end plug positioned in the firing chamber, a lock rod (24) is inserted into the lock sleeve to force expansion of the linear slotted (32) end plug sufficiently to prevent the safety device from being removed from the barrel. Withdrawal of the lock rod from the lock sleeve to allow removal of the safety device is prevented by a knurled cap (22) which is threadedly attached to a knurled enlarged end portion (28) of the lock sleeve. Since the safety device is able to rotate freely in its assembled position in the gun, any attempt to unscrew the knurled cap without holding the enlarged end portion of the lock sleeve stationary will be unsuccessful. A child will not be able to remove the knurled cap since he or she will hold the gun in one hand while fiddling with the knurled cap with the other hand.

Firearm safety lock

A lock for a firearm with a grip safety, and a sear engageable to a biased hammer in a cocked position and releasable by a trigger is disclosed. The lock has a housing defining a first bore within which a mainspring that biases the hammer is received, as well as a second bore. There is a locking pin retractable into and extendible out of the second bore of the housing. When the locking pin is in an extended position, the grip safety is restricted to an engaged state, blocking movement of the trigger. An actuator disposed in the housing and cooperatively linked to the locking pin provides the motive force for retracting and extending the locking pin.

Firearm lower receiver with non-detachable magazine

A lower receiver for an AR15 type firearm is provided comprising a non-detachable magazine movable in the receiver between a first locked position where the firearm is ready for use (i.e. cocked and ready for firing) and a second non-operational position where the magazine is lowered sufficiently to open a window or aperture in the receiver enabling the user to load fresh shell cartridges into the magazine. A locking mechanism also is provided for controlling the position of the non-detachable magazine between the first and second positions. A child-proof lock further is provided to prevent undesired activation of the locking mechanism. Additionally, a novel locking plate disposed between the lower receiver's frame and the receiver's stock extension tube provides enhanced support for the extension tube and an accessory attachment point for a shoulder strap or sling.

Firearm safety device

An improved firearm safety device for handguns is disclosed. The firearm safety device (10) prevents accidental firing of a gun by children, but is easily removable by an adult in 5 to 10 seconds, even in pitch darkness. The firearm safety device includes a lock sleeve (26) having an expandable end plug (30) and a lock rod (24) having a removable tip (34), which are inserted through muzzle (16) of a gun barrel (14) into an empty firing chamber (20). Removable tips, having different diameters, provide the proper expansion for different caliber handguns. A knurled cap (22), connected to the lock rod, is threadedly attached to a knurled enlarged end portion (28) of the lock sleeve, forcing the expansion of the linear slotted (32) end plug, preventing removal of the firearm safety device from the handgun. Since the safety device is able to rotate freely in its assembled position within the handgun, any attempt to unthread the knurled cap without holding the knurled enlarged end portion of the lock sleeve stationary, will be unsuccessful.

Apparatus and method for locking firearm in an open position by blocking action

A method for locking a firearm in an “open” position involves blocking some portion of the firearm's action (internal operational mechanism) with a selectively-extendable locking device accessible from outside the firearm. More specifically, the locking device is positioned at one of a plurality of pre-selected locations on the firearm, and includes a plunger that lies retracted when the device is unlocked, and that extends into the interior of the firearm when locked. The pre-selected location is chosen such that: (i) when locked, the locking device interferes with the firearm's action, preventing it from being closed, and the firearm from being fired; (ii) the locking device can only be locked when the firearm's action is in an open position, with the chamber visually exposed; and (iii) to the extent one is able to operatively disassemble the firearm when the locking device is locked, the locking device cannot be defeated internally.

Rear lock-up rimfire bolt action assembly

A rear lock-up bolt action assembly is provided. The bolt action assembly can include a receiver body including a front aperture capable of receiving a firearm barrel and a rear aperture. A lug groove can be formed in the vicinity of the rear aperture of the receiver body. The bolt action assembly can also include a bolt assembly including a bolt handle and three rear locking lugs arranged on a rear portion of the bolt assembly. The bolt assembly is configured to be arranged in the receiver body such that the three rear locking lugs are capable of being rotated within the lug groove when the bolt handle is rotated. When a round is fired, the three rear locking lugs are forced to mate with the lug groove thereby evenly distributing a bolt pressure on the receiver body.

System and method for locking and securing a firearm

A surface-mounted wall and / or vehicle locking and securing device for a firearm comprises a mounting bracket having a hinged lock bar connected at the second end of the mounting bracket. A magazine block is connected to the mounting bracket carrying a spring-loaded lock pin, which is dimensioned to pass through a hole or cut-out provided in the magazine block and the second end of the mounting bracket. A magazine mount tab is permanently attached to the mounting bracket for holding the magazine block. The device prevents the firearm from being loaded with ammunition and locks the firearm to a mounted surface using an external lock. The spring-loaded lock pin goes through the mounting bracket, magazine block inside the firearm and goes through a hole on the lock bar that comes through the firearm ejection port. The device has an automatic unlocking feature via a lock pin spring when the external padlock is removed from the pin lock tab and the lock pin. This allows the lock bar to automatically open for quick and easy removal of the firearm. Different external locks can be used to lock the firearm.

Ammunition Feeding Device Lock

Broadly, the present embodiment is a magazine locking device. The present embodiment locks a magazine in the magazine well when an AR-15 style rifle's upper and lower receivers are closed together. When an AR-15 style rifle's upper and lower receivers are closed, the present embodiment will allow a magazine to be inserted into the firearm. When a magazine is fully inserted into the magazine well the magazine is fixed in place. In order to release the fixed magazine that is retained in an AR-15 style rifle magazine well by the present embodiment, the upper and lower receivers of an AR-15 style rifle must be opened, or separated. The instant the upper and lower receivers of an AR-15 style rifle are separated the fixed magazine is automatically released. The present embodiment is returned to the closed position when an AR-15 style upper receiver is closed onto the lower receiver.
