Firearm safety lock with key-based override

A lock for a firearm is disclosed. The firearm has a grip safety and a sear engageable to a biased hammer in a cocked position and releasable by a trigger. The lock includes a housing defining a bore within which a mainspring biasing the hammer is revived. A latch is rotatably mounted to the housing and has a grip safety arm and a cam follower, and has a first rotational excursion with the grip safety arm in engagement with and restricting the grip safety to block movement of the trigger, and an opposed second rotational excursion with the grip safety arm in disengagement from the grip safety to unblock depression of the grip safety and movement of the trigger. An actuator is mounted to the housing and cooperatively linked to the latch, and provides motive force for positioning the larch in the first rotational excursion and the second rotational excursion.

A firearm safety lock for an automatic pistol such as the Model 1911 firearm is disclosed. The safety lock includes a means of arresting the operation of the main trigger or hammer spring in the pistol grip of the firearm to prevent movement of the hammer, thereby locking the gun in a safe condition. A means and a method is disclosed for locking a pistol in a sale condition by arresting the movement of the hammer spring buffer through insertion of a locking shaft through the pistol grip housing which can be keyed to prevent unauthorized removal of the locking shaft. The disclosed invention may be used on newly manufactured firearms or provides a method to easily convert an existing firearm without permanent modification or damage to the firearm.

Device for rendering a firearm safe for dry fire practice

The firearm device for disabling a firearm for dry fire practice. A bushing is inserted in the firearm having a diameter of a cartridge. The bushing includes a through bore which receives a length of flexible material. One end of the flexible material is enlarged, so that is stops when it is pulled against the surface of the bushing. Apparatus for firearm safety

An apparatus comprises a trigger assembly for initiating a firing of a firearm. The trigger assembly comprises a trigger blocking portion. A safety selector lever is configured for joining to the firearm. The safety selector lever has an on position with the safety selector generally in a downward position and accessible to a user's thumb of a hand gripping a grip of the firearm. The safety selector is rotatable by the user's thumb to an off position where the user operates the trigger assembly while maintaining the safety selector in the off position. A safety cam is in engagement with a pivot end of the safety selector. The safety cam is configured for engaging the trigger blocking portion in the on position to inhibit the firing and for engaging the trigger blocking portion in the off position.

The training magazine includes a safety block at a top of the magazine, configured to block the breach of the firearm and thus keep the bolt of the firearm locked to the rear such that the firearm is incapable of firing. The safety block can include a notch in a front portion thereof, which is configured to accommodate a chamber flag while the chamber flag is in the chamber of a firearm.
