A baggage storage system especially for an aircraft passenger cabin includes a lowerable baggage compartment, a guide arrangement along which the motion of the baggage compartment is guided between an upper closed position and a lower open position, a powered drive unit, and a coupling arrangement that selectively couples or decouples the drive unit relative to the baggage compartment. With the drive unit coupled to the baggage compartment, a full powered raising and lowering of the baggage compartment is achieved. If the drive unit fails, it is decoupled from the baggage compartment, so that the baggage compartment can be manually raised and lowered. A locking latch arrangement securely latches the baggage compartment in the upper closed position.

A method and apparatus for positioning and supporting the work platform of a mobile workover rig is disclosed. The work platform of the preferred embodiment of the present invention utilizes a unique support structure and automated positioning system for positioning the work platform at the desired height above the wellhead equipment. The preferred embodiment of the present invention utilizes a specialized automated “pinning” system that secures the work platform at the desired height. Additionally, the present invention utilizes one or more support cylinders to position and support the work platform in the horizontal position over the wellhead equipment. The automated positioning and pinning system of the present invention is a unique system that significantly reduces the time required to position the work platform of a mobile workover rig in the operating position, as well as significantly reduces the risk of injury to rig personnel assisting in the positioning operations.

A lift assembly includes a first platform provided with a top surface, a pair of opposed sides, and wheels and brackets connected to one of the sides for rotating the assembly. A plurality of rectilinear support shafts have opposed end portions conjoined to the platform and extending upwardly therefrom, and are spaced at opposed corners of the platform. Inverted U-shape guide rails are telescopically engageable along a length of the support shafts and have a pair of rectilinear regions slidably positionable about the support shafts. A second platform is provided with top and bottom surfaces, and apertures formed at opposed corners thereof that are vertically registered with the support shafts. A lifting mechanism is included for vertically biasing the second platform and the guide rails along the support shafts. The lifting mechanism is connected to the top surface of the first platform and the bottom surface of the second platform.

An elevating trailer for moving between a low, cargo-loading position and an elevated, cargo-transporting position. The frame of the trailer has opposing sides, each side carrying a pair of tandem wheels. An inflatable air bag is mounted on a supporting and pivotal frame above the trailer side. When the bags are inflated the arms of the supporting frames are spread apart, lifting the frame. When the bags are deflated, the arms pivot toward each other, lowering the frame and facilitating loading of cargo into a container mounted on the trailer frame.

A roller conveyor includes a plurality of idler rollers positioned along and between opposite sidewalls and a transverse drive system operable to rotatably drive at least some of the idler rollers of the roller conveyer. The transverse drive system includes a motorized roller positioned generally transverse to the idler rollers and a plurality of drive members drivably connected between the motorized roller and respective ones of the idler rollers. Actuation of the motorized roller drives each of the drive members, which in turn independently rotatably drive the respective idler rollers. The transverse drive system may be selectively operable to accumulate articles on one or more zones of the roller conveyor. The game hoist apparatus is attachable to a tow hitch of a pickup truck or similar vehicle. The game hoist can be taken to the site in the bed of the truck and speedily installed in the tow hitch for hanging, cleaning and butchering large game, such as deer. The hoist includes a folding tubular boom of square cross-section, and having a winch, pulleys and a spreader bar for supporting the game animal. A stabilizer fixture on the end of the boom engages the spreader bar to prevent the game from twisting. The boom is made up of two sections which are locked in place at a swivel bracket by removable pins for operation, and unlocked by removing the pins for folding the unit for storage or transit. The boom lower end is supported from an attachment bar which is inserted into a tow hitch and locked in place with the hitch pin.

A portable studio hoist which can be positioned and secured in a studio pipe grid or other structural setting without the need for hard wired power supplies or fixed attachments. The portable studio hoist is designed to operate on standard single phase 120 volt power and includes a motor mounted to a support bar with a dual cable system for supporting, raising and lowering a batten to which the load is secured. The displacement of the first actuator is significantly less than the displacement of the longitudinally lowest slat due to the winding of central cords around a ball bearing housed within the bearing block. In another embodiment, a device for tilting the slats to which two outer cords are affixed is provided with two laterally oriented sides and an annular protrusion rotatably supported by a suitable assembly secured to a support surface and transversally extending outwardly from each laterally oriented side, such that the tilting device is rotatable about a transversal axis coincident with the axis of the annular protrusions.
