Patient intreface assembly supported under the mandible

A patient interface system having a patient interface and chin support system for supporting the patient interface on the patient and for supplying a flow of gas from a patient circuit to the patient interface. In one embodiment, the chin support is formed from flexible hollow chambered support and extends from either side of the patient interface curving downwardly in front of the patient's cheeks, around the outside of the patient's mouth, to a position beneath the patient's mandible. In another embodiment, the chin support is coupled to a conduit that is coupled to the patient interface. The chin support includes at least a portion that is disposed under the patient's mandible.

Hot melt adhesive system having centralized manifold and zone heating capability

A dispensing unit for a hot melt adhesive system has a manifold centrally located within the dispensing unit to permit commonality between heated hoses of substantially the same length used to supply adhesive guns at either side of the dispensing unit. The dispensing unit also includes a manifold that is thermally isolated from the adhesive tank. The manifold has a heater that is independent of the tank heater for more precise temperature control of adhesive flowing through the manifold. A pump coupled to the manifold is located external to the tank and is heated by the manifold heater.

Cap mounted light

An illumination system for a hat is provided. The system includes a light pivotally connected to an attachment mechanism constructed of hook and latch material. The hook and latch material is provided around an adjustment band of a typical “baseball cap.” Batteries and a touch sensitive switch are coupled to the light with the touch sensitive switch facing inward. The cap is usable in its standard orientation during the day to shield the suns rays from the user's eyes. At night, or indoors, the cap may be reversed. Whereas in the standard orientation the touch sensitive switch is blocked from contact with the skin by the user's hair, in the reversed orientation the touch sensitive switch contacts the user's forehead, thereby actuating the light automatically for use.

Gas burner head

A gas burner head assembly characterized by a flame-leading pipe strategically positioned between a burning plate and an igniter to provide a climbing path for the flame. The igniter is a part of a standard gas oven and has a fixed height. The burning plate rests on top of a housing that confines a gas-air mixing chamber. The upper open end of the flame-leading pipe is secured on an upper rim of a peripheral wall of the housing. The lower open end of the flame-leading pipe is aligned to the igniter and the main gas nozzle of a valve module mounted on the oven body. By leading the ignited flame to climb from a lower level located by the igniter to a higher level positioned by the burning plate, the gas burner head effectively eliminates the undesirable ignition obstruction while accommodating the standard gas oven valve assembly and igniter.

Sealing apparatus for a slag door of a metallurgical furnace

A sealing apparatus for a slag door of a metallurgical furnace, having a mounting assembly for mounting the apparatus to the furnace, and at least one closure element, moveable from an open position that is exterior of the slag door opening, to a closed position that effectively seals against the slag door and extends into the slag door opening with the rear panel of the closure element(s) being proximally aligned with the interior wall of the furnace. The apparatus may also have at least one wiping component moveable so as to sweep across the lower surface of the slag door to remove obstructions.

Durable Switches and Methods for Using Such

Among other things, various durable switches are disclosed that can include a switch housing, an actuator element, and a field element. The switch element can include a channel defined by a channel base, at least one channel side, and at least one open end. The actuator element can be rotatably mounted to the channel side such that rotation of the actuator element causes an outer point of the actuator element to position at a location proximate the channel base. In this position, a passage through the open end is substantially larger than a passage between the outer point of the actuator element and the point proximate the channel base. Further, rotation of the actuator element causes a change in location of the field element that can effectuate switching.

Overhead door lock system and control unit therefor

A locking mechanism includes a frame having a movement obstruction arm movable into a track on which rollers of an overhead door will move. When any roller on the door abuts against the arm, it will obstruct any further opening movement of the overhead door. A camming means is associated with the movement obstruction arm to automatically shift the same to a position out of the trackway when the door is moving back to the closed position. A control module is operable with the locking mechanism and receives a signal from a locking mechanism indicative of whether or not the locking mechanism is opened or closed. The control module will thereupon provide an opening signal to an opener for the overhead door.

Combinatorial screening system with X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy

A sample analysis system makes use of both X-ray diffraction analysis and Raman spectroscopy of a sample. The sample is part of a sample library that is mounted on an XYZ stage that allows each sample to be examined in turn, as the XYZ stage is moved to position successive samples to a sample location. The system components may be mounted on a goniometer to allow their repositioning. A video system may be used for optical examination of the sample, and a knife edge may be used to prevent X-ray radiation from reaching a sample adjacent to the sample positioned at the sample location. A controller may be used to automatically control the operation of the analysis components and the movement of the sample holder to as to allow automated analysis of all of the samples in the sample holder.
