Design of Handle Set for Ablation Catheter with Indicators of Catheter and Tissue Parameters

An electrode coupling output system provides indication to the physician, via electrode guidance instrumentation, concerning the electrical coupling of an electrode, such as an ablative or mapping electrode, with a patient. The output can be provided to the physician via an output device incorporated into the handle set of the electrode catheter. For example, a visual, audio or mechanical output can be provided via the handle set. Additionally or alternatively, the output can be provided to the physician via a navigation system. The indication may be provided by changing the color or other display characteristics of the electrode on the navigation system display or by way of providing a waveform indicating the electrode coupling. In this manner, electrode coupling information is provided to a physician in a manner that minimizes physician distraction.

Method of automatically controlling a motorized window treatment while minimizing occupant distractions

A load control system provides for automatically controlling a position of a motorized window treatment to control the amount of sunlight entering a space of a building through a window located in a façade of the building in order to control a sunlight penetration distance within the space and minimize occupant distractions. The load control system automatically generates a timeclock schedule having a number of timeclock events for controlling the position of the motorized window treatment during the present day. A user is able to select a desired maximum sunlight penetration distance for the space and a minimum time period that may occur between any two consecutive timeclock events. In addition, a maximum number of movements that may occur during the timeclock schedule may also be entered. The load control system uses these inputs to determine event times and corresponding positions of the motorized window treatment for each timeclock event of the timeclock schedule.

Collaborative augmented reality system

A method, apparatus, and system provide the ability to control navigation of a three-dimensional (3D) computer aided design (CAD) model in an augmented reality space. The 3D CAD model is rendered in the augmented reality space and appears as if it is present in a physical space at true scale. A virtual camera is defined as fixed to a current pose of a user's head. A virtual line segment S is constructed coincident with a ray R from a center of projection P of the virtual camera and a center pixel of the virtual camera. A check for geometric intersections between the virtual line segment S and surfaces of scene elements is conducted. Monitoring Signal Path Quality in a Conference Call

It is recognized in the disclosed technique that the way impairments on a conference call are diagnosed and handled in the prior art can sometimes be as distracting as the impairments themselves. The disclosed technique attempts to address some of the disadvantages in the prior art by monitoring the signal path quality on a conference call and, based on the quality of the signals received, performing one or more actions that are intended to minimize distractions while handling the impairments. In particular, in accordance with the illustrative embodiment of the present invention, the technique performs a multi-threshold evaluation of media signals that are received at a conferencing server. If a measure of the impairment being considered exceeds a first threshold, but not a higher second threshold, then a first set of actions is taken to handle the impairment. If the measure exceeds the second threshold, then a more-extreme second set of actions is taken.

Automatic communication notification and answering method in communication correspondance

A communication correspondence notification and reply method is provided. The method is implemented as a software program with the objective to be less distractive and to increase work productivity compared to prior methods. In particular, a notification format for incoming communication correspondences is determined, without any guidance / input from the user, taking into account (i) monitored user activity and (ii) the type of incoming correspondence, i.e. the notification format is a function of tracked / monitored user activity and the message type with the objective to minimize distraction to the user. To further minimize user distraction, the software program determines an area on the display of the computer system where the incoming correspondence can be presented to the user. Once presented, the user then has the ability to reply with minimal effort by making a pointer-device gesture movement in reply to the presented notification.
