Navigation of view relationships in database system

InactiveUS6609122B1Maintaining correctness and consistency of dataData inconsistencyData processing applicationsDigital data processing detailsOriginal dataApplication software
The invention is an improved system and method for browsing and editing data residing in database tables. The method of the present invention includes the steps of providing a graphical user interface in communication with a database, receiving user input to the graphical user interface, retrieving data from the database, displaying the retrieved data in the graphical user interface, and navigating to one or more referenced database tables or views by user request entered on the graphical user interface. The purpose of referential integrity is to prevent database users or applications from entering inconsistent data into a database. The goal of referential integrity navigation is to allow the user, having retrieved one or more rows of data, to navigate easily to the data in other tables that either refers to or is referred to by that data. These relationships are defined by referential integrity constraints, and the data thus retrieved by navigation is then available for all the operations possible on the original data, including data editing and further relational navigation. By storing a catalog of the relationships known to exist between Oracle's V$ views, the same form of navigation can be provided between these data sources.

Object management system supporting the use of application domain knowledge mapped to technology domain knowledge

An object management system is providing for managing, cataloging, and discovering various potentially reusable code and data components that exist within an Information Technology (IT) platform, and which each have well-defined interfaces with other components. For each of these re-usable code and data components, an associated software object called an "asset element" is created that describes the associated component. Relationships are created between various asset elements to represent the relationships existing between the software components. Other software objects called "locator elements" are created that each describes an application concept or sub-concept. This application concept or sub-concept is associated with a problem solved by the code and data components within the IT platform. Relationships are created between the various locator elements to correlate the concepts and sub-concepts to software constructs represented by asset elements. The object management system further supports various object discovery tools capable of identifying locator elements associated with a particular concept. These locator elements and the associated relationships may then be efficiently traced to identify related asset elements and the associated software and code constructs. This provides an efficient concept-based search mechanism for the code constructs. Other tools are provided for creating, modifying, and deleting the elements. A model may be used to define the various types of relationships and elements that may exist within the system, thereby simplifying the various tools needed to support element creation, modification, deletion, and traversal.

Doctor performance evaluation tool for consumers

Presenting information to patients—intuitive, statistically significant bucket rankings in more than one score domain—in response to requests for medical providers associated with their choice of medical conditions or treatments, and other restrictions. Statistically significant intuitive bucket rankings (such as “*” to “****”) from relatively limited data on medical providers, and adjusting those intuitive bucket rankings so that they reflect a valid measure of the domain of interest despite differing numbers of measurements available for distinct medical providers. User interface by which a patient can (1) specify medical conditions or treatments, and other restrictions, (2) search for medical providers appropriate to those conditions, order them by bucket ranking in a choice of score domain, and (3) obtain more information on those medical conditions or treatments, for medical providers the patient selects.

Method of animating transitions and stabilizing node motion during dynamic graph navigation

In a system and method for arranging a graph according to a Force-Directed Layout algorithm, a node-set transition in the graph may be animated by iteratively reducing or increasing an impact value of one node on another node, and a velocity of a node may be reduced in proportion the to the degree of its non-directional movement.

System and method for navigating applications using a graphical user interface

A computing device having a graphical interface system for navigating computer programs is provided. The system includes a navigation display showing an organizational model of a computer program that is formed by concentric rings representing levels of options within the computer program. At least one of the rings is an active ring, which is emphasized to show selectable options. The options represent either categories of other options or features of the computer program. The options may be represented by icons or words. A method for navigating a computer program using the organizational model includes using a graphical user interface to select options on an active ring. Selecting a category option activates an inner ring that displays options related to the previously selected option on the next higher ring. The user continues navigating through inner rings until a feature option is selected, which invokes a feature of the computer program.

Lighting device and lighting method

A lighting device, comprising a first group of solid state light emitters and a first group of lumiphors, wherein at least some of the first group of solid state light emitters are contained in a first group of packages, each of which also comprises at least one of the first group of lumiphors. If all of the first group of solid state light emitters which are contained in the first group of packages are illuminated and / or if current is supplied to a power line, (1) a combined illumination from the first group of packages would, in the absence of any additional light, have color coordinates on a 1976 CIE Chromaticity Diagram which define a first point, and (2) at least 20% of the packages would emit light having color coordinates spaced from the first point. Also, methods of lighting.

Computer-related method, system, and program product for controlling data visualization in external dimension(s)

A computer graphics display method and system for controlling data visualization in at least one external dimension is provided which allows better querying and navigation of data in external dimension space. A data visualization is displayed in a first display window. A summary window provides summary information on data for the data visualization across one or more external dimensions. First and second controllers are displayed for controlling the variation of the data visualization in respective first and second external dimensions. A user queries the data visualization in the first and second external dimensions by selecting a point in the summary window. A user navigates through the data visualization in the first and second external dimensions by defining a path in the summary window. Grid points are also displayed in the summary window to facilitate data queries and navigation based on actual data points. The first and second controllers can be first and second sliders, such as, slide buttons, dials, or any other type of input. An animation control panel, including tape-drive controls, a path control, and a speed control, controls an animation of the data visualization over a selected navigation path through external dimension space.

Systems and methods for configuring a device via a software-defined networking controller

The disclosure is directed towards systems and methods for configuring a device via an SDN controller. A connection can be established between an SDN controller and a device intermediary to a plurality of clients and a plurality of servers, in order to provision resources of the device for use by one or more applications of the SDN controller. A request can be received by the device from the SDN controller to define one or more configuration policies for an application communicating with the SDN controller. The configuration policies can configure the device to provide one or more functions of the device to the application communicating with the SDN controller. The request can be generated by the SDN controller and can include function definitions based on a device model installed on the SDN controller. The device model can corresponding to the device and can include device properties of the device and configuration parameters for each of the functions provided by the device. In response to receiving the request to define the one or more configuration policies, the device can perform function-level configuration of the device, including configuring one or more functions of the device to process packets corresponding to the application communicating with the SDN controller that are received by the device using the one or more functions of the device.
