Control panel with activation zone

An interchangeable hearing aid control panel with at least one activation zone arranged in connection with a layered structure. The layered structure has an electrically non-conducting substrate, an electrically conducting path arranged in connection with the substrate, and an electrically conducting member, such as a conducting foil, arranged at a predetermined distance from the activation zone. The activation zone can be either in a deactuated or in an actuated state. In the actuated state the conducting member and the conducting path are electrically connected while disconnected in the deactuated state. Electrical connection to an associated hearing aid is by means of a connector, such as a plug, enabling the control panel to be easily changed. Preferably, the connector is formed by a piece of flexprint. The layered structure may comprise a second conducting path. In preferred embodiments activation zones are indicated by “poppel domes” formed by a surface layer covering the layered structure. The activation zones may form an MTO control or a volume control. To fit BTE hearing aids, the layered structure preferably has an elongated structure with a length of 1-4 cm. Other shapes can be formed to fit ITE, ITC and CIC hearing aids. In preferred embodiments, the control panel comprises one or more Silicon-based microphones protected behind a surface layer of the control panel.

A flat plate with four legs is placed above the stem which moves adjacent to the walls of the housing. The plate extends through a frame and openings on the sides of the frame snap on to the sides of the insulated housing. Greater switch reliability is achieved by having the elastomeric dome with a bottom portion comprising a conductive material for contacting the metal dome. An alternate embodiment of the three-state switch comprises a pushbutton disposed above an upper, extruded, elastomeric element for lower cost advantages having conductive material on a bottom surface for making electrical contact within the base of the switch housing and a lower metal dome, when the pushbutton is activated. The lower metal dome also makes electrical contact with contacts in the base of the switch housing.

Electrically Conductive Pins For Microcircuit Tester

The terminals of a device under test are temporarily electrically connected to corresponding contact pads on a load board by a series of electrically conductive pin pairs. The pin pairs are held in place by an interposer membrane that includes a top contact plate facing the device under test, a bottom contact plate facing the load board, and a vertically resilient, non-conductive member between the top and bottom contact plates. Each pin pair includes a top and bottom pin, which extend beyond the top and bottom contact plates, respectively, toward the device under test and the load board, respectively. The top and bottom pins contact each other at an interface that is inclined with respect to the membrane surface normal. When compressed longitudinally, the pins translate toward each other by sliding along the interface. The sliding is largely longitudinal, with a small and desirable lateral component determined by the inclination of the interface.

Navigation wheel having switching assembly

An ergonomic pointing device receives user commands for controlling an electronic device. Typically a switching assembly is provided underneath a navigation wheel. The switching assembly comprises switches for generating and / or modulating signals in response to the received commands. Locating the switches in the switching assembly allows, for example, increased manufacturing tolerances. Additionally, the switching assembly can be secured to a device base such as a printed circuit board of the electronic device using, for example, a solder reflow process. Attaching the wheel assembly to the base permits, for example, the use of materials (such as rubber) and colors for the wheel that would otherwise be incompatible with a high temperature process.
