The bill processing device is used for counting currency bills of a plurality of denominations and includes an input receptacle and a transport mechanism. The coin scale is adapted to determine a coin total for at least one group of coins. The keyboard is adapted to manually receive from an operator information related to at least one of the currency bills and the coins. The processor is communicatively linked to the currency bill processing device, the coin scale, and the keyboard and is adapted to determine an aggregate total corresponding to the sum of a received currency bill total, the coin total, and an other-media total.

Coin discrimination apparatus and method

A coin discrimination apparatus and method is provided. Coins, preferably after cleaning, e.g. using a trommel, are singulated by a coin pickup assembly configured to reduce jamming. A coin rail assists in providing separation between coins as they travel past a sensor. The sensor provides an oscillating electromagnetic field generated on a single sensing core. The oscillating electromagnetic field is composed of one or more frequency components. The electromagnetic field interacts with a coin, and these interactions are monitored and used to classify the coin according to its physical properties. All frequency components of the magnetic field are phase-locked to a common reference frequency. The phase relationships between the various frequencies are fixed, and the interaction of each frequency component with the coin can be accurately determined without the need for complicated electrical filters. In one embodiment, a sensor having a core, preferably ferrite, which is curved, such as in a U-shape or in the shape of a section of a torus, and defining a gap, is provided with a wire winding for excitation and / or detection. The sensor can be used for simultaneously obtaining data relating to two or more parameters of a coin or other object, such as size and conductivity of the object. Two or more frequencies can be used to sense core and / or cladding properties. Objects recognized as acceptable coins, using the sensor data, are diverted by a controllable deflecting door, to tubes for delivery to acceptable coin bins.

The present invention features a tracking system for currency containers in a gaming casino. Currency is received in removable containers having a memory chip for storing information such as the container ID, the ID of the gaming machine, the date and time the container was placed in a gaming machine. A mobile cart or a hand-carried unit is provided to store and transport the containers to a counting room. Data in each container's memory is verified and continuously monitored by the cart. A docking station verifies, reads, and transmits data to a remote computer and also provides a printout. All temporary data is erased from memory, and the containers are ready for reuse. Each time a container is inserted into a machine or other apparatus, a date and time is written to memory so that a complete adit trail is available.

The device for distinguishing the false money by imaging the paper money through the multimodal information fusion consists of a sensor, a signal processing unit, a master control unit, a driving unit and a transmission passage, wherein the master control unit is connected with the position sensor, the signal processing unit and the driving unit respectively; and the driving unit is connected with the transmission passage. The method comprises the following steps of: acquiring the multimodal characteristics of the paper money; fitting the process that a person senses the false distinguishing characteristics of the paper money by a plurality of characteristic extracting methods, and constructing a multimodal characteristic space; and using a targeted matching and comparing algorithm for different anti-counterfeiting characteristics. By using the method and the device, paper money stained damage and anti-counterfeiting characteristic abnormality are distinguished according to a model, and by a multi-classifier fusion method, the limitation of the conventional method is effectively overcome, and the false paper money distinguishing with high reliability is realized.
