A method is provided for determining a ranking score for an image or group of related images among a plurality of images accessible by a search engine, such that the ranking score is usable to determine the order in which the images are presented in the results of a search conducted by the search engine. The method comprises monitoring the number of times the image (or the images in the group of related images) is presented for viewing by predetermined users in the results of searches conducted by the search engine. There are three options for encoding the amount: 1) the customer enters each amount after scanning the item prior to sending to the financial institution; 2) the financial institution enters the amount of each item after receiving the file from the customer; and 3) the amount field(s) are scanned and the amount is automatically entered. The system allows for both 1) online (Internet) capture of the MICR data and the associated image or 2) offline capture and the subsequent importing of the image and MICR data for transmission to the financial institution via the Internet. The financial institution can review the items captured online, and repair any item that is incorrect. The financial institution can use the system to print substitute checks that confirm to ANSI X9.90 for processing or deliver an electronic file in ANSI X9.37 format to any check processing system. The system includes secure transport over Internet connections for file transfer and dual control security to reduce fraudulent transactions from being initiated by the customer.

The computer user is then requested to identify the related images from the series of images. These image identifications are received from the computer user. A determination is made that the computer user is: a human if the image identifications only identify the related images from the series of images; and a non-human if the image identifications do not only identify the related images from the series of images.

Digital watermarking technology is used in conjunction with map data, such as is acquired by satellite and other aerial sensors. An automatic digital image grouping system and method for automatically generating groupings of related images based on criteria that includes image metadata and spatial information. The system and method takes an unordered and unorganized set of digital images and organizes and groups related images into image subsets. The criteria for defining an image subset varies and can be customized depending on the needs of the user. Metadata (such as EXIF tags) already embedded inside the images is used to extract likely image subsets. This metadata may include the temporal proximity of images, focal length, color overlap, and geographical location. The first component of the automatic image grouping system and method is a subset image stage that analyzes the metadata and generates potential image subsets containing related images. The second component is an overlap detection stage, where potential image subset is analyzed and verified by examining pixels of the related images.

A system and method for automated layout of collaboratively selected images within a compilation for printing, viewing, etc. The images may be drawn from any number of albums owned by various users, and have associated rankings reflecting the users' behavior regarding the images (e.g., viewing, printing, recommending). Some number of images is selected for the compilation (e.g., the highest ranked images) and the images are arranged into chapters that correspond to the albums in which they are located. Within each chapter, images are ordered by time and grouped into clusters of related images (e.g., close in time, same event, same subject). Page templates are used to determine how many images to place on a page, and may be designed or redesigned so that the prominence (e.g., size) of each image corresponds to its ranking. The present technique provides a system and method for efficiently customizing an imaging system, such as a medical diagnostic imaging system. Based on images typically produced by one or more imaging systems, the present technique forms a plurality of image subject matter groups each having a plurality of related image types / views and one representative image type / view. Each customer is then provided with a plurality of predefined image style options for each of the plurality of representative image types / views. The predefined image style selected for each of the plurality of representative image types / views is then applied to each of the plurality of related image types / views in the respective image subject matter group. A source key and an image key are defined for each item in the ECP data and the image data. An electronic check presentment (EIP) sequence number generated at the receiving financial institution, associates each presented electronic item with the ECP sequence number and image sequence number. System components include a transaction and image import server, an entry creation module, a cross-reference archive load module, a reject repair module, a post preprocessor module and a posting module. These components enable transaction and image data to be imported to a host processing system, formatted, converted between standard image formats, repaired on the date received, archived and posted to customer accounts in a check truncation environment.
