A new protocol system and method is described that utilizes a Schedule Information Vector (SIV) protocol for saving power in wireless local area networks. The protocol includes an access point, one or more stations, and an SIV frame including an association ID for identifying one of the stations and a scheduled wake-up time for the identified station. The access point originates and transmits the SIV frame protocol of the scheduled wake-up time to the stations. The SIV frame protocol of the wireless network is further operable to dynamically adjust the scheduled wake-up times of the stations, a sequence of the wake-up times, a periodic wake-up time, a plurality of wake-up times, and a duration of the wake-up times of the stations. These adjustments may be made based on network traffic, traffic buffering times, data priorities, data length, and data rates.

A method and an apparatus reduce power used when a traffic load is low in a base station of a wireless communication system. The base station monitors a traffic load. When the traffic load is lower than a predetermined threshold and a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) mode is used to communicate with a mobile station, the MIMO mode is converted to a Single Input Multiple Output (SIMO) mode. The base station performs communication with the mobiles stations by using the SIMO mode. According to another embodiment, when the traffic load is lower than a predetermined threshold, the base station limits the number of Resource Blocks (RBs) that may be allocated to a coverage area of the base station. A Power Amplifier (PA) bias related to a transmission output of the base station is reduced based on the limited number of RBs, thereby saving power consumption of the base station.

The invention relates to wireless communication between listening devices, in particular to a hearing aid system comprising a hearing instrument and a telephone apparatus. The invention further relates to a method of receiving a telephone call and to the use of a hearing aid system. The object of the present invention is to provide a relatively simple, reliable scheme for receiving a telephone call in a hearing instrument. The problem is solved in that the telephone apparatus comprises a transmitter for establishing a short range digital, low-power link to a hearing instrument comprising a corresponding receiver. This has the advantage of providing a relatively simple and low power solution, where at least the incoming part of a telephone conversation is wirelessly transmitted via a low-power link. The invention may e.g. be used for the communication between a hearing instrument and a telephone, where a standard wireless interface for local connectivity, such as a Bluetooth interface, is not technically feasible or not available for other reasons.

The system comprises a communication module, a video acquisition module, an image definition evaluation module and a temperature compensation and focusing curve fitting module; the image definition evaluation module extracts the feature vectors of a video image in real time, analyzes the feature vectors according to an image quality discrimination algorithm, and obtains an optimal focusing quantity under a current temperature point when the image is has the highest definition through traversing a focusing range; and the temperature compensation and focusing curve fitting module fits an optimal focusing quantity curve in an entire airborne ambient temperature range according to optimal focusing quantities under different inputted temperature points. According to the optical athermalization design detection system and detection method of the invention, airborne ambient temperature is simulated, so that testing is performed; the optimal focusing quantity curve under different temperature is drawn, and is solidified into a photoelectric product, so that the athermalization design of an optical system can be realized. According to the detection system, image quality detection is objectively evaluated through adopting image definition, and a temperature compensation and focusing curve is automatically drawn, and therefore, labor and time can be saved. With the detection system and detection method adopted, multi-batch photoelectric products can be tested, so that repeatability is high.
