Method and apparatus for a multiple flavor beverage mixing nozzle

A multiple flavor beverage dispensing nozzle includes at least one disposable beverage flavor syrup injector for injecting flavor syrup into a mixing fluid. The flavor syrup injector injects flavor syrup at an angle towards the longitudinal axis of the nozzle exit orifice such that the nozzle exit orifice does not come in contact with the syrup, avoiding color and flavor contamination of other dispensed beverages. Also, by injecting the syrup at an angle, the mixing fluid intersects with the syrup in midair below the surface of the nozzle, resulting in a complete and gentle mixing of syrup and mixing fluid, without syrup residue accumulating on any surface in contact with any other flavor. By directing the mixing fluid through and around the housing containing the flavor syrup injectors, a uniform even circular flow of mixing fluid is dispensed from the exit orifice of the nozzle. By using multiple flavor syrup injectors, a nozzle may contain several different flavors in a smaller space than a single flavor nozzle.

Liquid product pouring and measuring package with drain-back spout fitment and tight-sealing measuring cup assembly

An improved dispensing package for liquids is described comprising a combination pouring spout fitment, a closure that functions as a measuring cup when removed and inverted, and a bottle. The improved liquid seal between the closure and the fitment is made possible through mismatched bevels on the closure and fitment respectively wherein the sharper angled bevel on one of the parts buries into the wider angled bevel of the other part. The applied torque is prevented from loosening prematurely through a thread configuration form that allows the closure to seat securely into the spout fitment with the closure threads pushing back up against the bottom surfaces of the fitment threads in a “locked” arrangement. The correct alignment of the fitment on the bottle is made possible through the coordination of a thread stop on the fitment and corresponding locking lug on the neck of the bottle. Lastly, an indicia means is used on the outside of the fitment skirt to verify that the spout fitment and closure subassembly has been correctly orientated on the bottle even through the direction of the spout is obscured when the closure is in place.

Method of using one-way valve and related apparatus

An apparatus has a valve body defining a first passageway, a valve seat, and a flow aperture extending through the valve body and coupled in fluid communication with the first passageway. A valve cover of the apparatus is formed of an elastic material and includes a cover base mounted on the valve body and fixedly secured against movement relative thereto, and a valve portion overlying the valve seat. The valve portion defines a predetermined radial thickness and forms an interference fit with the valve seat. The valve portion and the valve seat define a normally closed, axially-extending valve opening therebetween. The valve portion is movable between a normally closed position with the valve portion engaging the valve seat, and an open position with at least a segment of the valve portion spaced away from the valve seat to connect the valve opening in fluid communication with the flow aperture to thereby allow the passage of fluid from the flow aperture through the valve opening. A hermetically sealed variable-volume storage chamber stores therein multiple portions of the fluid and is connectible in fluid communication with the one-way valve assembly. A pump is coupled between the variable-volume storage chamber and the one-way valve assembly, and is configured to pump discrete portions of fluid from the variable-volume storage chamber, through the flow aperture, and through the valve opening to dispense the portions of fluid through the valve assembly.
