Methods and apparatus for transmitting and receiving data having a data stream in a wireless broadcast system are provided. A frame is generated. The frame includes preamble section and a data section. The data section carries the data stream. The preamble section carries signalling information. The frame is transmitted to a receiver. In generating the frame, the data section of the frame is segmented into a plurality of frequency zones, and the data stream is mapped to a frequency zone of the plurality of frequency zones. The signalling information includes segmentation information of the frequency zones.

A method is performed in a receiver including a number of modules. The method includes receiving information in a reception frequency band. Responsive to a notification from a transmitter of a transmission in a predetermined transmission frequency band, at least one countermeasure is performed by at least one of the modules. Because each OFDM TPS frame also includes a frame order of that frame within its corresponding super-frame, a receiver of the TPS data can reassemble the network ID by ordering the four received portions according to the frame order of the respective OFDM TPS frames in which they were received. The sixteen bit DVB-H network ID may alternatively be divided into two eight-bit portions, and each eight-bit portion may be included in the cell_ID bits of two frames of a super-frame.
