A method and apparatus that systematically prompts staff, patients and visitors at care facilities to perform handwashing at critical time periods, for example after touching a toilet flush handle or upon entering or leaving a patient's room. A plurality of detectors are used to sense whether a person has entered an area and to determine whether the person has cleansed their hands within a predetermined period of time before entering the area or leaving the area. If it is determined that the person has cleansed their hands within the predetermined period of time, no prompting message is generated. If it is determined that the person has not cleansed their hands within the predetermined period of time, an audio / visual warning message is generated.

Toilet rim mounted device for dispensing two liquids
A device for dispensing liquids from under the rim of a toilet by way of the toilet flush water is disclosed. The device includes a first arcuate bottle containing a first liquid and a second arcuate bottle containing a second liquid. The dispensing device has an arcuate base for holding the bottles. A wicking device supported by the base conveys liquid from the bottles to dispensing positions contacted with flush water. A hook is provided for suspending the base from a toilet rim. The majority of the upper surfaces of the bottles are not visible from above the rim of the toilet bowl when the dispensing device is installed on the rim, and the wicking device does not extend outward beyond an edge of the base. The bottles are at least partially spaced apart to define a flush water flow path between the bottles and through openings in the base.

An automatic toilet flushing system, for use with conventional toilets, includes a sensor, an actuator and a flushing mechanism. The actuator has a gear train, a motor, a pivotal arm connected to the gear train, and a power source connected to the motor for rotating the shaft of the motor which rotates the gear train for pivotal movement of the arm. The flushing mechanism includes a flapper valve and the pivotal arm is connected to the flapper valve via a bead chain and a handle swivel or a tab mounted on the pivotal arm. A waterless vacuum toilet system for an aircraft includes a toilet bowl connected via a suction valve and a waste collection pipe to a waste collection tank. Waste-contacting surfaces that come into contact with urine and fecal waste are coated with an adhesion-inhibiting or adhesion-reducing nanocoating. The adhesion of waste is significantly reduced, and the need for flushing water is completely eliminated. Instead, an air jet arrangement preferably including an annular ring nozzle or annular air gap directs an airflow into the toilet bowl and along the nanocoated waste-contacting surface thereof, to "air flush" the waste material from these surfaces. The flushing airflow may be induced through the air jet arrangement into the toilet bowl by the suction applied through the suction valve. The "air flushed" toilet system substantially reduces the total system weight and eliminates the need for toilet flushing water to be carried in the aircraft.

Toilet seat lifter with flusher
A mechanism for raising and lowering a toilet seat in response to actuation of foot pedals. An actuation cylinder with a contained piston is connected between the toilet bowl and the toilet seat. Water from the supply line for the toilet is routed to the actuator cylinder when a seat up pedal is depressed and causes the piston to extend out of the actuation cylinder and raise the seat. Operation of a flush pedal causes the water within the actuation cylinder to drain so that the toilet seat lowers. A mechanical linkage from the flush pedal to the flush mechanism of the toilet links toilet flushing to the seat lowering action, ensuring that the seat is lowered after each flush.

The float is sufficiently buoyant and capable of resisting the force of flowing water and keeping the flush valve cover open to allow flush water to pass through the valve body before closing the cover when the valve body is installed on a toilet.

A toilet is provided with a vacuum to assist in the flushing process. The vacuum is provided downstream between the toilet bowl and a waste outlet to draw the waste contents of the toilet bowl and out of the toilet bowl to the waste outlet under pressure. A controllable valve connected to a vacuum source is connected in a discharge passage between the toilet bowl and the waste outlet. The valve is opened to apply vacuum to the discharge passage upon activation of a toilet flush actuator and closes prior to the waste contents of the toilet bowl reaching the location of the valve. The system comprises a rainwater tank for storing rainwater collected from a roof top and a grey water tank to store grey water collected from a shower or bathtub. The rainwater is used to augment the grey water supply through a self regulating valve. Domestic water can also be used to replenish the grey water tank. A demand amount of grey water is pumped from the storage tank to at least one toilet tank. The system is controlled by a controller using pressure sensors and temperature sensors. The invention may include a solar heating circuit coupled to a domestic water heater. In one example of the invention, the system stores grey water in a bathtub and supplies it to toilet tank.

The oily sludge renewable coal has the advantages of high calorific value, low ignition point and low production cost, thereby truly realizing the purposes of reduction, harmlessness and resource utilization of the oily sludge.
