Length-control suture technique

InactiveUS20120116448A1Large amount of effectReduce or prevent hypertrophic scarsSuture equipmentsSurgical needlesInjury mouthMedicine
A method of suturing a wound using a length-control technique. The method includes the step of placing a first pass of suture having barbs, with a first pre-attached needle, completely through the skin of the wound, from the undersurface to the outside, at a shallow angle just beyond one apex of the wound. The method also includes the step of placing the opposite end of the suture, with a second pre-attached needle, completely through the skin of the wound, from the undersurface to the outside, at a shallow angle just beyond the opposite apex of the wound. When the skin is pushed down on the suture, the suture pulls both apices towards the center of the wound to connect both apices to each other.

Auxiliary tension-reducing instrument used in surgical suturing

The invention belongs to the technical field of medical instruments and provides an auxiliary relaxation instrument used in surgical suturing. The auxiliary relaxation instrument is of a rounded cuboid and includes a relaxation layer (1), an adsorbed layer (2), stitching holes (3) and observing holes (4), wherein the relaxation layer (1) is arranged on the adsorbed layer (2), and the relaxation layer (1) and the adsorbed layer (2) are closely combined; the stitching holes (3) and the observing holes (4) penetrate through the relaxation layer (1) and the adsorbed layer (2); the stitching holes (3) are arranged in two rows and are symmetrical in a left-right mode. According to the auxiliary relaxation instrument, in the fully intradermal suturing process of a wound, the skin relaxation suture technology is simplified, and meanwhile moderate pressure is exerted on the wound to reduce bleeding. Therefore, it is guaranteed that the distances between stitches are equal in the manual interrupted suturing process, scar hypertrophy and suture cutting effects due to overlarge skin tension are prevented, and finally the skin relaxation instrument achieves the purposes of accelerating wound closure, bringing convenience to wound dressing change and wound observation and preventing the scar hypertrophy.
