Apparatus and method for providing secure network communication

The present invention is drawn to an apparatus and method for providing secure network communication. Each node or computer on the network has a secure, intelligent network interface with a coprocessor that handles all network communication. The intelligent network interface can be built into a network interface card (NIC) or be a separate box between each machine and the network. The intelligent network interface encrypts outgoing packets and decrypts incoming packets from the network based on a key and algorithm managed by a centralized management console (CMC) on the network. The intelligent network interface can also be configured by the CMC with dynamically distributed code to perform authentication functions, protocol translations, single sign-on functions, multi-level firewall functions, distinguished-name based firewall functions, centralized user management functions, machine diagnostics, proxy functions, fault tolerance functions, centralized patching functions, Web-filtering functions, virus-scanning functions, auditing functions, and gateway intrusion detection functions.

Cash dispensing automated banking machine diagnostic device

An automated banking machine (10) includes a lockable first fascia portion (20) which when unlocked enables access to a chest lock input device (104), inputs to which enable opening a chest door (18) of the machine. Opening the first fascia portion also enables access to an actuator (116) which enables moving a second fascia portion (22) for conducting service activities. A controller (72) in the machine selectively illuminates light emitting devices (118, 126) for purposes of facilitating user operation of the machine. Sensing devices (128) adjacent a card reader slot (28) on the machine enables the controller to detect the presence of unauthorized card reading devices. Servicing the machine is facilitated through use of a portable diagnostic article (98) which enables the controller to access diagnostic data stored in memory and which provides data indicative of the significance of the diagnostic data.

Automated banking machine diagnostic system and method

A diagnostic server software component for an automated banking machine is provided. The diagnostic server is operative to periodically retrieve diagnostic messages from a nonvolatile memory of the machine and store the diagnostic messages on the hard drive of the machine. The software is further operative responsive to communication from an external computing device to send diagnostic messages stored on the hard drive to an external computing device. The software may further be operative to route transaction diagnostic messages between the machine and a remote host banking system. The software may retrieve the diagnostic messages directly from a specified memory address of the nonvolatile memory. The software may periodically communicate with terminal control software of the machine to cause the terminal control software to retrieve the diagnostic messages from the nonvolatile memory.

Dynamic test pattern composition for image-analysis based automatic machine diagnostics

The present invention is directed to a system and method for test target selection in conjunction with dynamic test pattern generation. In the invention, a test pattern page(s) is composed using an optimal set of test targets, which can be accommodated or adjusted to fit within size constraints of the test pattern. The method of the present invention makes use of layout optimization to ensure that related and optimized test targets are accommodated on a single test pattern. For example, it may be preferable to “squeeze in” a smaller-than-normal uniform area target, rather than not to print it at all during a test.

Machine Diagnostic Device and Machine Diagnostic Method

The purpose of the present invention is to provide a machine diagnostic device that assists with sensor attachment such that malfunction sensing performance may be maintained even after maintenance of a device. The machine diagnostic device includes a sensor data acquisition part that acquires time-series sensor data that are measured by sensors that are attached to a machine that has one or more operating modes; a learning unit that statistically processes the sensor data prior to detachment of the sensors and computes a normal operation model; a malfunction diagnostic unit that diagnoses a malfunction of the machine on the basis of the sensor data and the normal operation model; and a sensor adjustment unit that, when the sensors are re-attached to the machine after the sensors have been detached therefrom, displays, in a display unit, as a sensor adjustment mode, discrepancies between the normal operation model prior to the detachment of the sensors and the post sensor attachment sensor data.

Method and system for diagnosing a machine

A machine diagnosing system is provided which can make an abnormality / failure diagnosis of a machine without using threshold values. It is composed of a dynamic state management controller that creates frequency distribution information showing a relationship between signal intensity related to engine output and occurrence frequency whenever the machine body is operated for a predetermined time, a management section that receives and stores pieces of frequency distribution information, and terminal equipment and each of which detects a decrease in engine output by arranging the pieces of frequency distribution information obtained from the management section in time series and by comparing these pieces of information with each other. A decrease in engine output can be detected, without using threshold values, by comparison between the pieces of frequency distribution information stored concerning the output of the engine, unlike a case in which the abnormality / failure of the machine is determined by comparison with a conventional threshold value or in which the degree of such abnormality is ranked by comparison there.

Operating machine instrument diagnostic apparatus and instrument diagnostic system

A device diagnostic apparatus (201) comprising: data judgment means (101) for, when device information (121) including operating condition information and internal state information is inputted, comparing the operating condition information of the device information with operating condition information stored in a database (111) beforehand to judge whether or not both of the operating condition information agree with each other, and then outputting judgment result information; and state diagnosis means (103) for, when the judgment result information indicates that both of the operating condition information agree with each other, comparing the internal state information in the device information with internal state information stored in the database beforehand, and then outputting the result of the comparison. This makes it possible to reduce the possibility that false judgment result will be output, and to achieve the efficiency of maintenance work.
