Dental Crown Cementation Soft Tissue and Biologic Attachment Protective Membrane and Method of Use Thereof

A dental crown cementation soft tissue and biologic attachment protective membrane has a dental membrane and a membrane carrier. The dental membrane is attached within the membrane carrier for easy manual manipulation. The dental membrane is used during dental crown installation to prevent dental cement from leaking out from the interior cavity of the dental crown into the gingival sulcus and surrounding soft tissue. The dental membrane is placed atop a dental abutment onto which the dental crown is to be installed. The dental crown is pressed onto the abutment over the dental membrane, causing excess cement to be extruded from the interior cavity onto the dental membrane. The dental crown then has minimal excess cement. The dental crown is then removed as well as the dental membrane, the cement on the exterior crown surface is removed, and the adequately cemented dental crown is again attached to the dental abutment.

The presently disclosed subject matter has application in the fields of Medicine, Neurology, Stomatology, Dentistry, Maxillofacial Surgery and Gerontology, using electronics nanotechnology and biomechanics technologies. The disclosed subject matter includes a bionic device of transduction of the mastication pressure into an electrical stimulus, capable of being perceived by the organism in the form of a nociceptive stimulus, which triggers in the organism an appropriate motor response of defense or decrease of muscle contraction. A generating device of nociceptive stimulus able to stimulate the brain areas related to chewing can be provided, modulating the muscular response thus avoiding the problems of overload during the process of mastication or while sleeping, involuntary movements called parafunctions of mastication, which translates to sharply wear down the dental crowns, also called bruxism. An exemplary embodiment can includes a driver, interface with the nervous structures, prosthetic abutment, and processing device and force transducer.

Universal transitional abutment

A universal transitional abutment for immediate placement during the first and / or second stages of the dental implant surgery is presented. The transitional dental abutment can approximate the natural appearance of a patient's own tooth. The transitional dental abutment can bypass the traditional anti-rotational component common to most dental implant systems by directly screwing the transitional dental abutment onto a dental implant. In another embodiment, the abutment can be a universal anterior transitional abutment. The anterior transitional dental abutment can comprise a ball and a crown. The ball can be affixed to the dental implant and the crown snaps onto the ball. The transitional dental abutment can be universally used on most dental implants regardless of manufacturer by simply changing the fastener of the transitional dental abutment. The universal transitional abutments can be permanent. Additionally, the universal transitional abutments can be readily available and cost effective to the dental professional.
