The compound comprises, by weight, 40-90% of polyphenylene sulfide resin, 3-20% of thermoplastic elastomer, 0-30% of polyamide resin, 0-40% of inorganic mineral powder and 0-2% of coupling agent, wherein melt index of the thermoplastic elastomer is higher than that of the polyamide resin and the polyphenylene sulfide resin. The invention further provides a preparation method of the compound. The polyphenylene sulfide compound is excellent in processing performance and mechanical performance, can be treated by using environment-friendly potassium permanganate roughing liquid and is suitable for development of environment-friendly electroplating; after electroplating, electroplating binding force with the surface of an electroplating coating reaches higher than 10N, and safety in use is guaranteed.
