Systems, components, and methods for electronic candles with moving flames

An electronic candle (10) which simulates a flickering flame is provided. The candle (10) includes a hollow shell (12), a light-emitting element (18) such as an LED and a cap member (20) having the contour of a burning flame covering the light-emitting element (18). An electromagnet is provided to swing the light-emitting element (18). The electromagnet is mounted on a bracket (26) and receives an alternating current. A holding member (40) has a dead weight (52) at one end and the light-emitting element (18) at the other end. A permanent magnet (54) is attached to the bottom of the dead weight (52) such that when an alternating current is applied to the electromagnet it creates a magnetic field for acting on the permanent magnet (54) causing the holding member (40) to swing along an axial direction of the bracket (26). The electromagnet, bracket, dead weight, holding member and permanent magnet are concealed inside the shell (12) with a neck (46) of the holding member (40) to which the light-emitting element is affixed extending out the top end (16) of the shell (12).

Foldable stroller

A foldable stroller includes two locking devices for locking a frame body in an extended position, and a twist actuator mounted on and rotatable relative to a grip and having two cam paths disposed on an inner shell surface thereof. Two cam followers are interposed between the grip and the twist actuator, and have cam surfaces to confront and slidably engage the cam paths so as to move the cam followers along an axis when the twist actuator is rotated. Two keys are secured by the cam followers and extend radially and inwardly to be inserted into and slidable along two keyways formed in the grip. Two pulling cords respectively connect the keys with the locking devices to pull the locking devices so as to unlock the frame body when the cam followers are moved. A retaining member is disposed to prevent movement of the cam followers, and is manually operable to move radially.

Method and apparatus for sharpening a tool blade

A device for sharpening a tool blade has a pair of spaced guide rails and a bracket for mounting a sharpening stone on the guide rails. A carriage is slidably supported on the guide rails and has a pair of spaced slide plates adjustably supporting a blade angle plate thereon. A clamp mechanism secures the tool blade on the angle plate which is secured in an adjusted position for forming a primary angle on the blade cutting edge by reciprocal movement of the carriage along the guide rails. The angle plate and attached tool blade are readjusted on the carriage for subsequently forming a secondary angle on the cutting edge of the tool blade. Printed indicia adjacent a plurality of adjustment holes formed in the slide plates set the primary and secondary angles of the cutting edge. Mating surfaces on the carriage and guide rails set the amount of material to be removed from the blade during reciprocal movement along an abrasive sharpening material.

The invention is a paint caddy for performing painting activities adapted for use by a skilled painter. The paint caddy includes a rigid frame having a lower and an upper support member vertically separated by upright corner members. The lower support member extends beyond the upper support member to form a platform area upon which a five gallon paint container can be stored. The upper support member is molded in the form of a paint tray in which an optional liner may be fitted. The lower support member provides compartments for storage of paint tools and accessories. Four caster wheels are appropriately attached to the lower support member so that the paint caddy can be wheeled from a service vehicle to a specific job site having stored therein the painter's tools, as well as taking into account ergonomic considerations for all necessary material supplies to perform daily paint activities.

A human body supporting structure, particularly a bicycle saddle, includes a load-bearing shell having a topside designed to face towards a user and an underside designed to face a bicycle frame. The shell includes at least one continuous sheet element having at least one differently deformable portion located at particularly stressed regions of the user's body. The sheet element is formed of a thermoplastic resin matrix with reinforcement fibers embedded therein. The differently deformable portions have a smaller thickness (Si) and a locally greater average density (pi) than the rest of the extension of the shell, said portions are formed in a thermoforming step wherein a local thickness reduction is carried out by compression and by heating said sheet element to a temperature near the melting temperature of the thermoplastic matrix. A method of making such support structure is further provided.

It has a perimeter wall spaced apart from a raised central structure to provide a moat-like area for flow of collected fluid toward a wall-mounted shut-off switch. When a desired maximum amount of fluid collection is exceeded, an electrical signal is sent to stop fluid production. The raised central structure comprises a hub with radially-extending ribs that each widens into a bent distal end having non-uniform height and width dimensions, and top indentations for receipt of vibration isolators that support the fluid-producing unit at a height above that of the perimeter wall. The non-raised areas around the ribs are all connected to the moat-like area to facilitate even fluid distribution within the pan. The pan further has an up-turned perimeter lip, staggered gussets, and angled corners for added strength, and may optionally have a nesting configuration for compact storage and transport.

Outdoor sign support system

A system for mounting a sign to a post comprises an elongated channel member adapted to be mounted on a backside of a sign and a bracket adapted to be mounted to a post to which the sign is to be mounted. The bracket has a channel engaging portion adapted to be slidably engaged into the channel member on the backside of the sign. The bracket comprises an endless collar extending along a continuous closed line and adapted to be fitted over the post. The collar defines at least one transversally oriented hole in which a threaded fastener is threadably engaged with a leading end thereof projecting inwardly of the continuous endless collar for exerting a pushing action on the post in order to secure the collar on the post while at the same time drawing the channel member against the post so as to prevent relative movement between the sign and the bracket.

A multi-position fuel valve includes a main body having an enclosed chamber with a number of inlet ports and an outlet port and associated seats in the chamber. Disposed inside the chamber is a revolving rotor that is connected to a selector handle located outside the chamber. The rotor provides a possible passageway between each of the inlet ports and the outlet port. The handle can rotate a maximum 180 degrees, and the valve has a pair of inlet sections and three-positions with an “off” position approximately midway between the other two positions. A pair of balls are positioned in the rotor and lodge in the plurality of seats or elsewhere in the chamber. When this occurs a certain portion of the passageway is cut off meaning there is no fluid flow from at least one of inlet ports through the outlet port. A compression spring with opposing ends bearing against the balls maintains the balls lodged in the seats, and releasably fixes the position of the rotor and handle. The valve further has a number of swiveling extension sections connected to the ports for inlet or outlet hoses, such that the valve can be mounted remote from the fuel supply and / or carburetor and connecting hosed routed in most any direction.
