System to monitor the health of a structure, sensor nodes, program product, and related methods

A system to monitor the health of a structure, health monitoring sensor nodes, program product, and associated methods are provided. The system includes an array of health monitoring sensor nodes connected to or embedded within a structure to monitor the health of the structure. Each health monitoring sensor node includes sensor elements positioned to sense parameters of the structure and to provide data related to the parameters to a health monitoring sensor node interrogator. Each health monitoring sensor node includes a processor or other means reducing raw sensor data to thereby reduce communication bandwidth requirements, and can include memory or other storage for storing the reduced data and an antenna arrangement for providing the reduced data to the health monitoring sensor node interrogator.

Spatial mode adaptation at the cell edge using interferer spatial correlation

A system and method is proposed for adapting the spatial transmission strategy in a cellular MIMO (multiple input multiple output) communication system for the downlink. Spatial mode adaptation, the choice of multiplexing, transmit diversity, number of streams, space-time code family, and the like are performed slowly based on side information from other base stations. Base stations exchange their transmission plans with neighboring base stations and broadcast this information to active users. Each user measures its susceptibility to spatial interference and returns this information to the base station. The base station then schedules active users according to the decisions made in interfering base stations and the preferred transmission strategies of its own users.

Scalable media access control for multi-hop high bandwidth communications

A scalable medium access control (“MAC”) module is provided that avoids conflict resource reservation so that network performance does not degrade as the number of hops or nodes in a wireless network increases. The MAC also provides different access schemes for traffic with different quality of service (“QoS”) requirements such that QoS is guaranteed and network resources are efficiently utilized. Furthermore, the resource allocation scheme determines the routing path as resources is allocated for data traffic, thereby achieving more robust layer-2 routing at the MAC layer. Finally, the scalable MAC is compliant with both WiMedia MAC and IEEE 802.15.3 MAC.

Multi-carrier underwater acoustic communication method applied to deep-sea channel

The invention provides a multi-carrier underwater acoustic communication method applied to a deep-sea channel, related to the field of underwater acoustic communication. According to the invention, atwo-path channel model which is transmitted in a convergence zone is established through calculating parameters such as the amplitude attenuation coefficient caused by wave surface extension and the amplitude attenuation coefficient caused by acoustic absorption when the acoustic wave is propagated in the ocean, and a two-path channel model is established for transmission in a convergence zone andis used for communication simulation; the two-path model of the deep-sea underwater acoustic channel established by the invention not only simplifies the channel model, but also truly reflects the characteristics of the underwater acoustic channel; through performing MC-DS-CDMA system simulation, the experimental results are shown in the harsh underwater acoustic channel environment; the systemhas good characteristics and can realize more stable communication; the transmission efficiency of the system is high, and the bit error rate meets the needs of practical engineering application, therefore, the system can be applied in practice.

Security operation method and system for access point

A system and a method of operating a security for an Access Point (AP) are provided. The method includes sending, by a mobile terminal, a key code conversion request message to the AP, generating, by the AP, a conversion key code in response to the key code conversion request message, sending, by the AP, the generated conversion key code to the mobile terminal, and accessing, by the mobile terminal, the AP based on the received conversion key code.
