An endoscopic surgical stapler for applying a suture to tissue including an elongated tubular member, a first jaw positioned at the distal end portion of the tubular member and having a longitudinal axis, and a second jaw disposed in substantially parallel relation to the first jaw at the distal end portion of the tubular member. A self-sealing male connector having a body, a resilient boot mounted over the body, and a male thread hub. The body is formed with an elongate post that extends to the distal end. The body includes a fluid flow lumen extending from its proximal end to its distal end. At its proximal end, the body may be formed as a female Luer connector, or may be directly connected to tubing, or other arrangements. The internal fluid flow lumen extends through the post to its distal end. The body includes a first groove in which is mounted the boot. In a second groove is mounted the thread cuff. The thread cuff is used to engage a female connector and through thread action, draw in into engagement with the post. As the female connector is further engaged with eh sealed male connector, the post protrudes through the boot and into fluid communication with the female fluid flow passage thus establishing a flow path through both connectors. The boot forms a seal with the female connector when engaged and returns to seal the male connector post and fluid flow passage within disconnected from the female connector.

An endotracheal airway is established using an endotracheal tube having an exterior retention structure defined by a series of longitudinally spaced recesses separated by projections. A variably-sized orifice in a faceplate constricts within a recess and contacts the projections to create a barrier against movement of the endotracheal tube. The faceplate is retained on the mouth by connection to a stabilization collar which surrounds the neck of the patient to restrain against flexion and extension which could reposition the endotracheal tube from its desired position.

A plumbing strap is fastened to a building. The invention provides a multiplexed assay device comprising a reaction chamber and several sets of encoded microcarriers 2 wherein the reaction chamber is a microchannel 1 and wherein the longitudinal movement of the microcarriers 2 is restricted and wherein the microcarriers 2 have a shape in relation to the geometry of the microchannel 1 such that at least two can stand side by side in the microchannel 1 without touching each other and without touching the perimeter of the microchannel 1 and are preferably observable in the reaction chamber. Moreover, the invention provides a method for performing multiplexed assay based on microcarriers 2 that improves mass transfer, simplifies the preparation and the execution of the assay and facilitates readout of biological reactions and identity of microcarriers 2.

A power plant for a jet-type model airplanes and UAVs includes an electric motor and a cover. The cover receives a portion of the electric motor and a sleeve into which the electric motor is inserted. The sleeve has a plurality of fins to dissipate heat and create openings into the cover. Air from the fan rotor passes through the openings to cool an electronic speed control member and exits a rear opening in the cover. The cover may also have additional openings for air to enter into the cover.

A lost motion mechanism that is operatively interconnected with a hydraulic cylinder is provided.
