Medical grasping device

InactiveUS7776052B2Easily and quickly guidedTimely treatmentStentsEar treatmentSurgeryGuide wires
A medical grasping device (10) for vascular use, having an outer sheath (12), an elongate control member (50) extending within an outer sheath (12) to a distal tip section (54), and a proximal control assembly (22) including an actuation section (24) joined to the elongate control member (50). Adjacent to the distal tip section (54) is a grasping portion (70,70′) that is extendable from the outer sheath (12) to create loops (74,74′) for grasping a target object (T) for repositioning within the vascular system, or for removal from the patient, with loops being retractable into the outer sheath to hold the target object against the device (10) during movement of the device. Elongate control member (50) is preferably a cannula or tube having a lumen (58) extending completely therethrough for placement over a guide wire (28) already in the patient.

Air bag gas inflator

A gas generator for an air bag that can change deployment pattern of the air bag is provided. The gas generator includes two gas generating units connected in the axial direction, each of the gas generating units including a cylindrical housing, an igniter disposed in the cylindrical housing and operates upon receiving an operation signal, a gas generating agent ignited by the igniter to generate a combustion gas, a pressurized gas sealed within the housing and heated by the combustion gas of the gas generating agent to generate a mixture gas together with the combustion gas, and a gas exhaust outlet disposed at one side end of the housing and from which the mixture gas within the housing is injected. The two gas generating units are joined by welding one end of each of the housings of the gas generating units together.

Metropolitan networks based on fiber and free space access distribution system

An architecture for facilitating wavelength-specific and packet-switched routing comprises a primary metropolitan fiber ring, a primary distribution / aggregation node in the primary metropolitan fiber ring and a local service domain further comprising a secondary aggregation node in communication with the primary distribution / aggregation node. A network to provide local metropolitan switching and routing and broadband local access distribution described in terms of its component layers comprises a distribution / aggregation routing layer that interfaces with a primary fiber metropolitan ring and a local customer primary distribution / aggregation node via transport branches of a mesh architecture, a local distribution and routing layer that routes specific wavelengths and newly assigned wavelengths to and from a customer's premises and a cross-connect layer that handles customer specific wavelength and packet routing via one of fiber, millimeter wave radio and free space optical communications.

Knee-protecting airbag device

An airbag of the knee-protecting airbag device according to the present invention includes a cover area which covers the lower side or the back side of key accessories and is contactable with the accessories. The airbag includes a bag-shaped airbag body with a driver's side wall and a column side wall, a protecting cloth, and a retainer cloth. The protecting cloth is joined at its lower end to an area in the column side wall below the cover area, while leaving its upper end as free end. The retainer cloth is so joined at its lower end to the driver's side wall as to be capable of covering the upper end part of the protecting cloth as extended to the driver's side wall. The airbag is transversely folded and housed in the housing in a condition that the upper end part of the protecting cloth is extended to the driver's side wall and then the retainer cloth is superposed thereon.
