78 results about "Route reflector" patented technology

A route reflector (RR) is a network routing component for BGP (RFC 4456). It offers an alternative to the logical full-mesh requirement of internal border gateway protocol (IBGP). A RR acts as a focal point for IBGP sessions. The purpose of the RR is concentration. Multiple BGP routers can peer with a central point, the RR – acting as a route reflector server – rather than peer with every other router in a full mesh. All the other IBGP routers become route reflector clients.

Enhanced data switching/routing for multi-regional IP over fiber network

Wide-area data communications utilize regional networks transporting IP-over-Ethernet on fiber. For certain Layer 2 services, a regional implementation of the network makes limited use of spanning tree protocol on a backbone ring. Learning bridge operations in switches on associated access rings involve a short default for an aging timer. For use of Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), the connection of each access ring to the backbone ring uses a pair of routers with dual links therebetween. One of these links is bonded to the backbone (OSPF Area 0), whereas the other link is bonded to the Area of the respective access ring. Also, certain routers within each regional network form a mini-autonomous system, for boundary gateway protocol (BGP). The mini-autonomous systems of the regional networks form a confederation. The network utilizes route reflectors in the mini-autonomous systems. The Internet carries confederation commands to and from a designated hub.

Method and apparatus for implementing hub-and-spoke topology virtual private networks

Deployment of a hub-and-spoke (HaSP) topology virtual private network (VPN) may be facilitated by implementing a bi-directional VRF on a hub PE and using the hub PE as a hub-reflector. Route distinguishers and route targets may be used to differentiate traffic originating on the spokes from traffic originating on the hub. Using a bi-directional VRF allows a HaSP VPN to be created using a single link between the hub CE and hub PE. Allowing the hub CE to control spoke route distribution, and differentiating the direction of the flow by route target and route designator, enables the hub to control traffic between the spokes. Configuring the hub PE as a route reflector allows communication between the spokes to take place without having the CE hub inspect every piece of traffic. Optionally, other services may be provided by the hub PE as well, such as NAT, firewall, and AAA services.

Routing announcement method and routing announcement device

The application provides a route announcement method and a route announcement device. The method, which is applied to a VTEP (Virtual Tunnel End Point) in a DR (Distributed Relay) system, comprises the following steps: receiving ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) information synchronized by other VTEPs in the same DR system; generating a first Ethernet virtual private network EVPN second-class route according to the synchronized ARP information, wherein the first EVPN second-class route has a first identifier which is used to show that the first EVPN second-class route is a route generated according to the ARP information synchronized by other VTEPs in the same DR system; and sending the first EVPN second-class route to a BGP route reflector having a border gateway protocol BGP neighbor relationship with the VTEP. Therefore, a VTEP receiving synchronized ARP information can also trigger and report a route, the situation in which traffic interruption is caused due to failure of a link where a single route is located is avoided, and the reliability of the EVPN network is improved.

Autonomous Movement System

A movable object includes a sensing device for detecting traveling-route reflector on a travel surface so that a region outside a floor projection region of the movable object, in particular the traveling-route reflector forward, can be detected. Detecting the traveling-route reflector across a wide range of areas allows traveling control, such as gradual deceleration before entering a curve, speed regulation based on a turning radius at the curve so that centrifugal force on a rider or load is not too great. Method and apparatus for providing a scalable route reflector topology for networks

Method and apparatus for implementing a route reflector topology that comprises a plurality of sets of route reflectors. Each set of route reflectors establishes a peering relationship with all PEs (Provider Edges), e.g., Provider Edge Routers in the network. In one embodiment, each PER designates one set of route reflectors to propagate said PE's private routes, e.g., VPNv4 routes, to other PEs in the network. This designated set of route reflectors is responsible for both advertising locally originated routes from this PE to all other PEs and advertisement of routes from other PEs to this PE. Using this unique route reflector topology, new sets of route reflectors and PEs can be easily added into the network seamlessly.

VPNv4 ROUTE CONTROL FOR LTE X2 SON USING UNIQUE ROUTE TARGETS

According to an embodiment, a network device automatically creates a more optimal route entry for inter-base station traffic to be transmitted between a local and a remote base station through a backhaul network. The network device automatically discovers an IP address of the remote base station used for inter-base station traffic based upon traffic transmitted by the local base station to the network device or transmitted between the local and the remote base stations. The network device generates a unique route target (RT) value based upon the remote IP address and inserts it into an import route target list.; Upon receiving a route update message including routes transmitted by a route reflector in the backhaul network, the network device installs a route entry into a routing table based upon determining that an RT value of one of the routes matches the unique RT value in the import route target list.
