A high chair is a piece of furniture used for feeding older babies and younger toddlers. The seat is raised a fair distance from the ground, so that a person of adult height may spoon-feed the child comfortably from a standing position (hence the name). It often has a wide base to increase stability. There is a tray which is attached to the arms of the high chair, which allows the adult to place the food on it for either the child to pick up and eat or for the food to be spoon-fed to them. High chairs typically have seat belts to strap the child in.

Backrest adjusting mechanism used in high chair for infants, toddlers, and small children

Disclosed is a backrest adjusting mechanism used in a high chair for infants, toddlers and small children and installed in the hollow section of the backrest body of the high chair, which includes a fixed handle, a movable handle, a set of springs, a movable rod, and a horizontal lever for adjusting the inclination angle of the backrest portion of the high chair, in which the springs are connected between the movable rod and the movable handle. The backrest adjusting mechanism is characterized in that a first groove is formed in each of the two bottom sides of the movable rod of the backrest adjusting mechanism, and a second groove is formed in each of the two bottom sides of the backrest body, and said horizontal lever penetrates through the bottom of the backrest body and communicates to said first and second grooves. When the inclination angle of the backrest portion is intended to be adjusted, the movable handle is pulled to jointly drag the movable rod so that the horizontal lever can be released from the position where it is previously hold. At this point, the inclination angle of the backrest portion can be adjusted. When the desired inclination angle is reached, the backrest portion of the high chair can be easily fixed at this desired inclination position by simply releasing the movable handle. In this way, the backrest portion of the high chair can be adjusted at will.

Seat liner for a child's seat

A washable seat liner for use in high chairs and grocery carts. The liner comprises a bottom panel, a back panel, left and right side panels, and a front panel. A wide body belt is attached to the inside of the back panel that encircles the child's torso like a cummerbund helping to keep the child upright and centered. The body belt includes two overlapping straps with hook-and-loop fasteners. A secondary, child-resistant connector overlies the body belt and prevents the child from releasing the body belt. A crotch connecter on the front of the liner attaches to the crotch bar on the chair or cart. This prevents the bottom of the liner from being pulled up inadvertently when the child is lifted out of the seat. A back flap wraps around the back of the seat. Side flaps have convenient pockets, and a front flap doubles as a crumb catcher.

The apparatus provides an interchangeable seat system comprising a textile walker seat and a semi-rigid high chair seat with a footrest. Additionally, the wheels lock into place to prevent the apparatus from rolling about while in the raised high chair position. The overall tray area surrounding the child then serves as a table upon which the child can eat.
